Gus to Blackburn? Do me a favour lol!!!! He's far too sensible for that!! Leave Brighton - a club going places, beautiful stadium, fantastic squad, and a chairman who knows what he's doing, to go to Blackburn........

I must be in the small minority that feels for Steve Kean. He hasn't done much wrong - ok they got relegated last season, but at a club like Blackburn, that was always on the cards, and whoever was in charge there, would have found it tough. And the start they've had, they look good for a straight return. They're a bunch of fickle fuckers up there!!! Perhaps he's not "manager material", but he's worked his bollocks off, and stuck by the club and team when things have been tough. Just shows what a bunch of jokers Venky's are, and the deluded expectations of the fans.

Don't feel sorry for Steve Kean he's as much to blame for the mess as the Venkys. To put it simply Venkys employed a Jerome Anderson as their football advisor. Anderson also happens to be Kean's agent and somehow between the three of them they engineered Alladyce's removal. As payback Kean's first signing for Blackburn was Anderson's son whose career at Leyton Orient and Aberdeen had amounted to about 30 seconds of playing time over three years.

Blackburn fans have every right to show their displeasure and should be supported in doing so.

The owners clearly know f*** all about football, but are probably aware that average gates falling from 24,000 to 13,500 in 6 months is probably bad for business.

Not sure that tinpot club have ever had a 24k average attendance in modern times, even when they bought, sorry won, the Premiership title.

Blackburn attendances get boosted by Lancashire derbies: Mike Avery Football Attendance Table All

As some of their supporters think that they had a chance of signing Gus Poyet ..... still they looked a quite useful side against Middlesbrough and they got beaten by the Middlesbrough forward J_____ who looked more than a little useful.

According to the Times "Blackburn have identified Match of the Day pundit and former striker Alan Shearer, 42, as their leading candidate to replace 44-year-old manager Steve Kean, if the Scot is sacked." I bleeding well hope so, then we'll have nothing to worry about from them at least! Hahahaha!

Or Tim Sherwood. Either will do.

Kean out? Yes, No, Maybe sometime soon?

The Venky Gang have done an "assessment" and the situation "is under review". The brilliant Shebby Singh says simply "no comment" when asked if Kean will be in charge for the long term. Everything appears to be under control, with all those in charge singing off the same Blackburn Hymn sheet then?

BBC Sport - Blackburn Rovers: Steve Kean to take charge on Saturday

Carry on Mr Kean. As you were. For the time being.........

It is interesting to read some of the Blackburn fans views on other forums. The dislike of Kean seems to not just be about results but other factors too. Teams have got relegated before but their fans have not booed the manager at every game. However, even if you just look at results, a lot of managers have done better and been sacked in a lot less time.

I understand the point about Blackburn being relegated eventually but Allardyce had them comfortably mid table and Kean almost took them down from there and then got them relegated last season.

Sacking him is the right decision but what is ridiculous is the timing. Why give him money to spend on the likes of Rhodes, Kazim-Richards, Best, Murphy etc this summer and then sack him when they are second after 7 games? If I was a Blackburn fan, I would be seriously concerned about who owners like that will appoint as the new manager.

Good post.

With regards to your point about spending the money, then chopping Kean, I'm not sure Venkys see the significance - it was Shebby Singh that signed them in any case (and I doubt he's going anywhere fast). A bonkers way to run a club IMHO, but I'm guessing that's their logic behind it!

Someone above mentioned Sven as a likely candidate to take over - that would be a match made in heaven!

Shebby Singh might be my new favourite footy personality.

He's just FUNNY isn't he

Is Shebby Singh really becoming known in England now? Awesome. The guy has been on ESPN and StarSports over here in the east for years now, as the most god-awful pundit possible. The guy hasn't met a cliche he doesn't like, and if something doesn't need saying he's sure to say it. He makes Steve McMahon, who can be generally be found on the sofa next to him, seem positively insightful.

He's good entertainment everytime he opens his mouth for sure.

You just know, if Kean gets the boot, Venkys & Singh will appoint somebody completely unsuitable & incompetent. The best one would of course, be Singh himself. Victor Chandler were offering odds of around the 33/1 mark for him to be the next Blackburn Manager! They consider Singh to be in with an equal chance of the job alongside Sven, Souness, Curbishley & Avram Grant. :D

I tell you what, I would put a sneaky £5 on that one.

I was wondering what his odds were. He's an ex-footballer. He claims to know his stuff and will, of course, be a yes man.

Taken from his wiki page ....

On 28 June 2012, Blackburn's Indian owners Venky's made former Malaysia defender Shebby Singh their director of football. He there introduced a new ritual; every Wednesday, he bakes strawberry-cookies for the complete Blackburn squad. [3]

Kean was always a yes man to the Venkys, he is sitting on a nice pay off if he does get the sack by them. Because the Woman in charge, I think her name is Mrs Singh, is a admirer of Kean and his so called Coaching abilities. The other two Venky brothers, want to get rid and bring in somebody else. But this woman doesn't want to and there has been a Boardroom tussle between the three, for the past 9 months. The 8 Million plus add-ons for Jordan Rhodes, was a publicity stunt by the Venkys to show that they are willing to splash the cash and get the Fans back on their side. as well to get out of this Division at the first attempt with Kean in charge. Kean even admitted himself, he didn't know much about Jordan Rhodes before the bid was accepted, the man is a disgrace to Blackburn Rovers and the fans will be delighed to see the back of him, if the Venkys brothers can get there away over Mrs Singh first.

If they did what every other club does, and gave Kean a vote of confidence, we'd know he's off. But giving him this vote of no confidence has completely thrown me.
