I hope they struggle... Keane has been very badly treated... S they got relegated with a shit side... He has them doing well in this league. I cant see keane ever winning over the fans even if they won the premiership title... Lose Lose situation.

Gus to Blackburn? Do me a favour lol!!!! He's far too sensible for that!! Leave Brighton - a club going places, beautiful stadium, fantastic squad, and a chairman who knows what he's doing, to go to Blackburn........

I must be in the small minority that feels for Steve Kean. He hasn't done much wrong - ok they got relegated last season, but at a club like Blackburn, that was always on the cards, and whoever was in charge there, would have found it tough. And the start they've had, they look good for a straight return. They're a bunch of fickle fuckers up there!!! Perhaps he's not "manager material", but he's worked his bollocks off, and stuck by the club and team when things have been tough. Just shows what a bunch of jokers Venky's are, and the deluded expectations of the fans.

It's about time there was equality in football management.
I'm sure a northern outpost such as Blackburn would embrace:-

with open arms.

I don't know if thats fishing, but I personally think that's a GREAT shout. Why not??

Is it true they didnt know you could be relegated from the premier league

Amazingly, that is apparently true (according to some chap i heard on bbc footy podcast a while back), although I believe Kean denied it...but he would.

They won't if the board sign Pep Guardiola and they win the league by March.
(somewhat far fetched but you know what I mean)

Ye I know what u mean and u can c the scenario of 'fans' chanting Kean out even if they won the next ten games ..I do think they've taken it to extremes ..wen rovers got a goal back they should hav been urging the team on for an equaliser ..but still Kean out was the main noise

Seems it might not happen yet although discussions are supposedly under way. Kean has prbably says he wants the full contractual payout and Venkys are trying to wriggle out of it.

If so good news for us as kean will be staying longer with no one knowing whats going to happen at the club. Cue drop in form (altho if you believe the Rovers fans.... the form is already atrocious)

Venky's are 'monitoring his situation' according to SSN. Not out yet it seems.

It is interesting to read some of the Blackburn fans views on other forums. The dislike of Kean seems to not just be about results but other factors too. Teams have got relegated before but their fans have not booed the manager at every game. However, even if you just look at results, a lot of managers have done better and been sacked in a lot less time.

I understand the point about Blackburn being relegated eventually but Allardyce had them comfortably mid table and Kean almost took them down from there and then got them relegated last season.

Sacking him is the right decision but what is ridiculous is the timing. Why give him money to spend on the likes of Rhodes, Kazim-Richards, Best, Murphy etc this summer and then sack him when they are second after 7 games? If I was a Blackburn fan, I would be seriously concerned about who owners like that will appoint as the new manager.

If you look at the players they had last season, they really weren't that bad. Players like Robinson, Dann, Yakubu, Hoilett, Pederson etc. They should have been stronger than teams like Wigan and QPR in my opinion.

Wigan and QPR had equally good squads. At one stage with 4-6 weeks remaining of the league bburn looked to be out of relegation with a 5 point cushion.

Blackburn are a team i dislike however i really believe the way the fans were last season cost the team a good few points under that pressure.

Now that is bloody hilarious!!!! Oh, how I would love to see that one.

Absolutely this - although in the Championship maybe there aren't enough 'characters' for him to rub up the wrong way. Apart from Gus. And Colin. And Malky McKay etc etc

I think the root of the problem is that Kean is so close to the owners and that's why the fans really can't stomach him as Venky's have been a catastrophe for the club. I heard he has some sort of financial interest in the place other than just his contract that makes it exceptionally difficult and expensive to get him out.

I was confused last night because there was nothing on ssn, none of the journalists I follow on twitter were saying anything about it and Steve Kean wasn't trending on twitter. Now that this thread has said he's not actually sacked yet, but could be soon, it is now trending. Some amusing stuff, I don't know how true any of it is, but still humorous.

Serious ones first:

Steve Kean is on brink of losing his job at Blackburn tonight. Further talks planned on Mon but the end looks nigh

FootballFacts101 ‏FootballFact101
Statistically Steve Kean is Blackburn Rovers' worst ever manager, with a win percentage of only 28.38%.
