Katona - would you ?

To pork or not to pork ?

  • Hideous munt. I wouldn’t touch that with a reinforced thrust block.

I just caught the end of Bouncing Back or whatever it is called. She is strangely alluring. I'm still stumped as to what talent she has that means we see every episode of her life. Even Sharon Osbourne sent her some flowers.

Having been away from the UK for 6 years and back only three months, I am still utterly amazed at the amount of shite on TV and the apparent interest Britain has in talentless car crash people - Katona, Price, etc. Must say, having been on a diet of mainly American tripe for a number of years, I thought I missed good old British TV, but I'm struggling to find much worth watching.

Amazing.

I followed Paris Hilton on Twitter for a while. She has thousands of fans that see her as a role model. She doesn't do anything worthwhile. She doesn't make anything. She said things such as "I love all of you. Don't believe what is being printed about me and the cocaine episode". Then later admitted to possession in court.

We love you Paris. I want to be you. You are my role model :bla:

What is this insane obsession with hideous people who exploit themselves and their 'fans' for the sake of a buck/pound?

I was in the Oxfam book shop in North Laine the other day and there was a trashy novel 'written' by Jordan claing to be a best seller. WTF?

Why would you follow Paris Hilton on Twitter in the first place?

I have just remembered that last saturdays Times Magazine has the fragrant/flagrant ? Mzz Price on the front cover.... one of her quotes is " I haven't been famous for 15 years just because I've got silicone in my chest ". Pray tell, er, why then are you famous ?

Hopefully younger and more intelligent "models" will come along fairly soon to ease her off the front pages. It will be interesting to see her change as time passes. Will the chimpozoid Nuts Magazine type still care or have any interest when she is 40 or 50 ?..... I, for one would just wish she would get a job and then she could live the normal life, out of the public eye, she seems to hanker for.

I find that I have surprisingly little difficulty in not switching on the tv to watch this twaddle while avoiding the gutter press is no more onerous.

sad that whole generations seem inured to it and unable to make a similar choice.

Morbid interest. It wasn't the fact that I wanted to know her every movement, I wanted to know what she did and why people worship her. That does sound like a terrible excuse, but I have learnt that one should not criticise without experiencing. That is why I have sat myself through a session or two of Jeremy Kyle.

You are quite right, never criticise those things you don't understand or know about. But Paris Hilton on twitter? I'd rather put my head in a blender.

Working Class hero and heroins are something to be.
The working classes make up the majority - appeal to the lowest common denominator (I know, I hate using that expression) and their hard-earned scratch will be released like gene-passing protein for your benefit.
Paris Hilton? Paid £100,000+ just to open a night-club!
Snip,"I declare myself wonderful, and so should this club be" (now shell out the 1/10th of another mil sonny or I'll send my minders round).

(note to self; I should get a manager)

Here's an idea - spend just a couple of days wages, and stalk around the public streets with 2 bodyguards. Make sure they wear their security cards on the arm, and make sure you swan around the populated areas. Have them always look stern and stiff, overbearing and serious, They must stop behind you when you look in shop windows, stare menacingly at chavs, open doors for you, and sit at the next table when you take a coffee.
On another day, 2 camera-wielding paparazzi - actors of course, you can't get real cameramen for cheap. You need to hire two BIG cameras, not Poloroid Swingers or Canon Sureshots, but perhaps with concertina lenses and flashbulbs. No film required (though you must take a few snaps for the album). Haunt the same places you visited with the security men.
Another day, a couple of teenagers with autograph books.

You won't get famous except among a few curious people who will obviously wonder 'wtf?'
It won't cost more than an average week's wages, and the worst thing that can happen is ......you get a kick out of the reactions and you see how those nothing-ever-done-but-super-famous people live.

But you are not "experiencing", you are just consuming the poop ...perhaps slightly more insatiably than most.
See my post above, and BE Paris Hilton, and not by licking her (_!_), morbidly or with glee

Certain type of person interested in what they're told they like or friends say they like. Guy version I always thought of was liking Pamela Anderson or Jordan's looks. Everyone thinks they're munters yet someone seems to say they're hot from time to time. Usually the single, never been kissed type but still. I just can't understand the appeal of 'celebs' but hey if it keeps the freaks off the streets when the soaps aren't on.

only they typically aren't working class and rarely heroic in a real sence. middle class and lucky. best can be said is sometimes they are down to earth.
