First touch aside, the 3rd touch was sublime too to make the perfect space. Thats the bit often ballesed up. And the 2nd touch, drawing the defender/teeing it up... and the assist, perfect, and this goal couldn't have happened under RDZ. Love a well placed keeper assist, the goalies normally got the biggest kick in the team and if you can land them on a sixpence like that it's a powerful weapon in our toolkit.
Great team celebration as well like "what did you just do" especially from Rutter and Wellbz
Magic moment

One day, we will look back on Mitoma like we currently do with Ward, Zamora, Vicente.

He's already an Albion icon - but it's not fully realised yet, in part because he's been part of squads full of talent, in what is our golden era. But he's one player that Albion fans old and new, decades into the future, will be revering and idolising... his very special skills and goals will be remembered and replayed by Albion fans again and again until the end of time.
Well.

I'm firm in my conviction that Mitoma is the best player to have ever played for the club

Genuine question and I know there is no definite measure but does Mitoma have the best first touch in world football, this is not an isolated occurrence?
Got to be a bit careful with this.

Messi is still playing and first touch is one of the things you keep as you decline. Ronaldo too of course.

Then there is Salah, who in a sensible world on his trajectory must be nailed on for the ballon d'or. But yeh, they'll bottle that and give it to a Real Madrid player

I'll tell you what, if he keeps on performing at this level, some Palace fans will agree that he's good enough to make their bench (for cup games against lower league teams obviously - but it is progress). Oh and:

Still discussing it at great length on SSN this morning.
He may even begin to challenge Tyrick Mitchell if we're really lucky!

Can someone PLEASE make a compilation video of some of his best first touches? I would if I had any clue how to.

You’re probably right there.

Mrs Mitoma may be able to confirm.

Alan BIley had a great first touch too. Apparently.

He's an assassin.

He killed an 80 yard pass in plain sight and people applauded.
It was quite easy actually, as he was in the air when he took the ball which is why it was such a piece of cake to soften the touch.

That's what Dion Dublin said on Football Focus.

Who was renowned for that sort of goal of course.

It's the way there seems to be a pause where he and his right foot sort of wait in the air for the ball to land on it whilst everyone else is still moving at full pace. Astonishing.
There have been comparisons in the media with a Bergkamp goal.

Not one of the pundits will dare say that the Mitoma goal was better (assume so as not to attract the ire of the Arse fans).

But Mitoma's goal is at a faster pace and as you point out, the act of leaping, whilst running flat out and bringing the ball down, for me is far more difficult than the Bergkamp effort.
