Seriously?

So you think it is ok for civil freedoms to be severely restricted and random police brutality is ‘perfectly reasonable’ if someone has been caught allegedly committing a crime? Note I said ‘allegedly’ - no one has ‘committed a crime’ until it has been proven in law - (unless you think we should suspend the right to habeas corpus too?)
come off it, they're obstructing the highway as clear as day. the actions seen are hardly brutality, this is soft touch handling of middle class chap, compared to those out of line on a Friday night in town.

I 100 % agree with you that civil liberties are being eroded by the Tory’s. And quite deliberately so. From press freedom to the right to protest.

Having said that, blocking traffic by sitting in the road has always been unlawful and the police have historically been a lot more brutal with these type of protesters than they currently are.

Nobody who sits in the road, blocking traffic has ever been allowed to do so.

As an aside, if they tried it in most countries it would be batons out and sore heads time.
They did let us sit in the road at the Goldstone

When you see the blue lights of the emergency services in your rear view mirror, what do you do? You let them pass. Absolutely zero time for these attention seekers.
Not a fan of this just gives the right wing press ammunition

The snooker, the cricket and the Wimbledon jigsaw were far better protests. Minimal harm, maximum publicity

£20 million: The justifiable cost of freedom in a democracy or the unjustifiable diversion of tax payers’ resources needed elsewhere?

Climate change is already costing us £20m a day, could be 3 times more by 2050 if we don't get a handle on things

How much are we spending a day on tax breaks for fossil fuel companies?

I get their cause… but targeting a tourist attraction, an inanimate object, that couldn’t have less of a connection to the issue, is just moronic & annoys people. A good protest gets people on board, and gets people joining their numbers. This, as with almost all of their actions, does the opposite. Morons.

If there was any possible way to have me start thinking that oil isn't such a bad thing, and where can I get some, it's these clowns.
Some people find clowns funny, whereas everyone thinks these are morons.

It just baffles me. It’s everything not to do when trying to gain public sympathy for a very serious cause.

Well they did issue a chilling warning only a few weeks ago they would be looking to disrupt the great British summer so nobody should be surprised. A little bit odd for their first target though, expect airports will be next causing maximum disruption for families on their summer getaways.
