come off it, they're obstructing the highway as clear as day. the actions seen are hardly brutality, this is soft touch handling of middle class chap, compared to those out of line on a Friday night in town.Seriously?
So you think it is ok for civil freedoms to be severely restricted and random police brutality is ‘perfectly reasonable’ if someone has been caught allegedly committing a crime? Note I said ‘allegedly’ - no one has ‘committed a crime’ until it has been proven in law - (unless you think we should suspend the right to habeas corpus too?)
Actually no if I have to pull into a bus lane or a yellow box and receive an £80 fine. Any other time no problem. When you see the blue lights of the emergency services in your rear view mirror, what do you do? You let them pass. Absolutely zero time for these attention seekers.
They did let us sit in the road at the GoldstoneI 100 % agree with you that civil liberties are being eroded by the Tory’s. And quite deliberately so. From press freedom to the right to protest.
Having said that, blocking traffic by sitting in the road has always been unlawful and the police have historically been a lot more brutal with these type of protesters than they currently are.
Nobody who sits in the road, blocking traffic has ever been allowed to do so.
As an aside, if they tried it in most countries it would be batons out and sore heads time.
Not a fan of this just gives the right wing press ammunitionWhen you see the blue lights of the emergency services in your rear view mirror, what do you do? You let them pass. Absolutely zero time for these attention seekers.
Climate change is already costing us £20m a day, could be 3 times more by 2050 if we don't get a handle on thingsMet calls on Just Stop Oil to engage with them as policing the activists has cost nearly £20m
Commander Kyle Gordon, who was responsible for planning the Met's policing response to the latest round of Just Stop Oil's protests, has said the activists do not have the right to "indiscriminately and unavoidably disrupt Londoners".news.sky.com
£20 million: The justifiable cost of freedom in a democracy or the unjustifiable diversion of tax payers’ resources needed elsewhere?
