LONDON — Boris Johnson is incapable of providing leadership during “the most serious security crisis since the Cold War” as Russian troops amass on the border with Ukraine, according to the U.K.’s opposition Labour Party.

In an interview with POLITICO following a visit to Kyiv, Labour’s Shadow Defence Secretary John Healey took aim at the embattled U.K. prime minister as Johnson fights anger in his own party over claims of lockdown-breaching parties in government.

Healey said it was an “embarrassment” that “with Europe facing the most serious security crisis since the Cold War, Britain has a non-functioning prime minister.”

Regardless of political point scoring, he's right. Now, there are many who because they haven't perceived the recent actions of Boris Johnson as directly affecting them, see him still as the bumbling but likeable chap who "got Brexit done and delivered the best vaccine roll-out in the world". In the world Ladies and Gentlemen. As he so often mentions.

But this is serious business. Nuclear powers are squaring up to each other. Threats are being made from all sides. The very last thing we need is a mop of blonde nonsense with a "Let the bodies pile high" attitude.

If you read the article in the OP you’ll see that the concern is Johnson’s involvement in negotiation and war-meetings. No.10 is trying to create a reality where Boris is a Churchillian figure heading up the allies against Russia.
This is not a time to be pushing his personal fantasies and agenda. War is not something to be played at.

Russia probably couldn't believe their luck over Brexit, the UK voting to weaken itself and the EU simultaneously with only a minimum amount of investment and effort from Moscow. Their next target will be the break-up of the UK and the consequent loss of our status as a permanent member of the UN security council.

But, don't expect any real input from Johnson, he does not do details as we all know now and I'm sure Mr Putin has plenty of kompromat on Johnson in case he needs it.

Besides, the Russians have been running and funding the Tory party for years now so he won't jeopardise his income stream.

A man that can't recognise a party when he's at one, has been described as " Un Clown " by the French President and didn't know that his " Oven Ready " Brexit deal would be inedible is not going to unite the West against a trained psychopath.

If Boris Johnson would even consider declaring war on Russia I think someone working with the security of your (or any other) nation would slip something unhealthy in his workday wine bottle...

While it is a permanent dream for the West to invade and colonise Russia and rob it of all its resources and permanently enslave their population, like in parts of Asia and Africa, none of the big Western countries have actually been dumb enough to attempt it in modern times and I doubt this will change anytime soon.
