According to Wikipedia, his full name is João Pedro Junqueira Jesus.

Tony Bloom has only gone and signed the son of God !

That's good business Tony. We've got the top man in for next season. Just as long as he doesn't go around forgiving everyone, anyway.

Our recent track record in improving young players, giving them plenty of first team opportunities, must be the equal of anyones.

I can only think of Alzate, Lamptey and Connelly who regressed. Shirley their doing?

Other clubs it appears to me play the percentages of their best XI or thereabouts in PL games.
By all accounts Alzate has had a cracking season on loan and progressed enormously. That's very much our process. Lamptey has been hampered by injury, but for which he would clearly have played. Connelly? Nobody of that name at the club.

Well we had a Cross, a Carpenter and a couple of donkeys previously, so why not Jesus.

Nothing wrong with forgiving people! Most of us need it at some time or other.

So you're saying he's nailed on to be a success?
I'm saying that this news finally puts to bed the idea that we need a striker. How do you follow up the son of God? Tony Bloom now faces his most difficult challenge in terms of succession planning.

P.S. Joao has most likely already forgiven the authors of 'we need a striker' as they didn't know what they were doing (or something like that).

PBOBE, next season, make sure the pitch is well-watered before all home games. Job's a good'un. ;)

Sorry, haven't read much of this thread but just watched one of those highlight reels and it seems he was captain at Watford, at least for some games. And he's 21?

Quite astounding how good this season has been when the club can smash its transfer record on a £30m Brazilian forward and the reaction on here is relatively meh
There's every reason to think next season could be even better and even more astounding.

1. Early business to sign new striker Joao Pedro. We already create the most chances in the PL.
2. The ascent of Billy Gilmour.
3. Youngsters Ferguson, Enciso, Buonanotte, Ayari are all going to get better.
4. Mac and Caicedo are still here and will only be allowed to leave for a huge profit. AFAIK, there have been no offers received.
