Just having the same discussion on an old colleagues whatsapp group……..only loud when they actually score (they just have, Undav’s dink was better though)Atmosphere is non-existent at Etihad…. Awful, soulless place to play football

It sure is.Edit, even when the big fella romps forward and scores a record goal……Atmosphere is non-existent at Etihad…. Awful, soulless place to play football
If he has a clause we won't be paying more than that, why would we? The player is free to choose between teams that meet the clause, it would be irrelevant if Watford accepted a bigger offer from us if the player knows that Liverpool for example would be in for him at the end if the season. The player has chosen Brighton which is a good thingI do wonder if the contract he signed after the Newcastle move fell through might not have had a release if not promoted clause of some type and this is why Watford are letting him go? And why it was announced pretty much as soon as it was mathematically clear they weren't going to get promoted?
Maybe something like a release clause for the £25m that Newcastle had offered, that would trigger at the end of the season? So by swooping in at £30m, Watford are happy to wrap it up quickly before any other team swoops in with a lower offer they'd be forced to accept?
I'm just speculating, but it would seem a sensible request for a young player signing a new contract with a team just relegated. And a solid motivation to sell quickly from Watford. An a good bit of business from Brighton (sure, you pay a premium, but you wrap it up without having to compete with half a dozen other teams).
Because if a deal is already signed before the clause goes into effect, then it's moot. That would be the point in doing it now.If he has a clause we won't be paying more than that, why would we? Why would Pedro sign a deal with us if he knew he could get a better one when the clause was activated? 30mil for a player who only scored 3 goals in the prem and only 11 in 46 in the championship - boy thats a MASSIVE risk.. we signed Maupay from Brentford when he had scored 26 in the championship and look how that worked out....hmmmmmmmmmm
your response wasn't the most elaborate eitherThis is rather simplistic.

Howdee neighbourHuge signing- I live close to Watford and their fans adore him. A rare spark in a dreary season. Playing alongside the quality here will see him show his class.
I doubt Velty is either. Or Mac.Also Caceido isn’t going anywhere.
