Charming, you've shown yourself up once again.
He does this every time, and each time it's somehow media worthy. He's spoken out about why, it's a complete non story.

I don't understand it. But I'm even less bothered by it.

Although he doesn't actually turn his back. He chooses not to partake in a quite passive looking way.

There's a shock, you and people like you will basically bend down and grab your ankles whenever asked , your type are never bothered unless its someone else's culture or traditions being disrespected , this was a calculated insult, full stop.

i havent shown myself up at all, for the record this is the first time he's done this , its a calculated insult , if the queen can shake hands with scum like mcguiness , then this tosspot can stand for our national anthem , its a deliberate insult to the british , which gutless wankers like you allow him to get away with :tosser:

Not an insult to the British!!!!!! Luckily most Brits are able to understand that some people may not agree with everything we have done and not feel comfortable belting out God Save the Queen. But then most Brits aren't constantly on the look out for things to be outranged about.

He is a Catholic from Northern Ireland. It's the word 'British' he has issues with. He may well shake the Queen's hand, he just doesn't want to sing a nationalistic song.

Then dont sing it , simple , most of the england team dont , no need at all to turn his back, it was a ''look at me'' act , calculated to show disrespect, you know it and i know it.

a calculated insult??

'The West Brom and Charelston players turn towards one end of the stadium, presumably where the Stars and Stripes and Union Flag are hanging, while McClean initially turns but then faces forward and bows his head'

doesn't sound very calculated to me.

I actually think its quite refreshing for a modern day footballer to stand up for what they believe in as opposed to pandering to the media/fans like the majority do

So what ?? There is a sizeable mnority , if not a majority of northern irish catholics who wish to remain in the union.

As a calculated insult it isn't very insulting. Just a bloke standing up for what he believes in. No need to throw your toys out of the pram.

Like I say permanently outraged and offended.

Not wanting to turn and look at a flag which represents the country which murdered people from your town whilst the national anthem of said country is playing. Crazy stuff

It is not the first time he has done such a thing, really need to get your facts correct, I dont always agree with his actions but he is standing for what he believes. When at Sunderland though he did make it about him v the club which was wrong given he is not playing for us any longer as he was crap once he was found out
