But Lallallanana stop has a couple of years don't he.

We don't need another one

The one we have is good enough for that role.

Could not disagree more, assuming Llalana is highest paid given Dunk signed a new contract at the same time as his wages must match the highest paid player we have had a very poor return on wages paid.

Mata would be a much better prospect

Last season was by quite a distance the most successful league season we have ever had. Adam Lallana played in 24 of the 38 games. That cannot possibly be a very poor return on wages paid.

This is NSC. Don't come on here spouting facts that show Lallana is anything but a sicknote, waste of time, money and squad number. Facts have nothing to do with peoples opinions on him being anythng but a waste of space.

Indeed - I can’t remember if it changed after the last few games but since Lallana signed, our RECORD SIGNING Adam Webster has missed more games through injury than ‘sicknote’ Lallana.

Off to Saudi for £12M a season supposedly.

No doubt will be loaned to Newcastle only paying a % of his wages at some point…

Signing for Forest rather than West Ham - for the money - would tell you all you need to know about Lingard.
Very much this.

One of my mates is a WHU STH and his opinion is that he was great for about two thirds of his time with them, but his form fell off a cliff and it widely went unreported. When he went back, opinion was split among their support as to whether they actually wanted him back. Personally I suspect he will prove to be a disastrous signing for Forest I'm afraid.

Edit: a quick look at the KUMB thread on this pretty much confirms all of what I've heard and that fans of any club really don't like players who make decisions purely and solely based on money:

This may be slightly above his market rate but if Kurt Zouma is on £120k a week and Declan Rice has been offered £200k a week then perhaps it's not that ludicrous. He's got 32 England caps, and this is probably his last big wage move.

In comparison to some of the wages across the rest of the league £180k is probably the going rate. Gabriel Jesus is supposedly on £265k a week, Trippier is supposedly on £100k (I'd imagine that won't be the Toon's highest wage for very long at all), Ings on £120k.

How is it the going rate if Lingaard is being paid almost twice as much as Trippier and Ings?

Forest are bonkers, absolutely certifiable, if they're going to be paying him £180k a week as a newly promoted club.

Unless of course the gamble pays off and he helps them stay up. Then it's probably worth it.

Risky.

This, this and this again!

Absolute madness if true.

As long as he isn't coming to Brighton he can do whatever he wants.

Not shite, but bang average by PL standards and would never have made 32 caps for England or 100+ games for Manchester United if he had come through the youth system of a smaller club.

But if they bought him for £7m and paid him £50k a week we'd be saying it was a fantastic deal for Forest.

It's exactly the same amount of money.

Surely it would cause problems in the dressing room?
If he`s getting that amount of money the other players will want more.
If Forest can afford to pay him that, why can`t i have more?

You’re forgetting the one key thing, the sign on fee.

That’s why lots of players run their contracts down because teams offer staggering sign on fees as lump sums, Lingard wouldn’t even consider forest if they didn’t offer him a very substantial sign on fee.
