A lot of weird comments on this thread from Tories. The Labour members have voted for the person they want to represent them. It will only be the death of the Labour Party if the parliamentary party refuses to work with Corbyn despite the emphatic mandate he has been given by the Labour members. The Labour Party's first job IS NOT as opposition to the Conservatives, it is to represent the views of it's members, and the views of their MP's constituents.
And the views of their MP's constituents are largely towards the centre. I would also think that it is their job to represent those who voted for them in other seats that were lost. Labour is one of the largest two parties and its voters will want them winning elections and running the country, not being a quirky alternative like UKIP, so they'll want them appealing to enough voters to win. The concern of many Labour voters will be that Corbyn is too far left to win the power to change our country.

I agree with this but shame the inevitable German reference has to be played every time.

Oh come on, cut me some slack. I did state I've said this before. And I managed to get Finland and Italy in

I suppose this is a case of social justice when two socialists gang up on you :(

That doesn't even make sense. If Labour were just Tory-lite and not left-wing enough for the voters they would still have voted for Labour as the most left-wing party. Honestly, the Corbyn fanboys need a dose of reality. No-one ever says I want a left-wing government but Labour weren't left-wing enough so I'll vote for the Tories.

Gotta love Corbyn fanboy logic. Here's another example: Corbyn votes against his party - he's principled. Various shadow ministers resign for fundamental ideological reasons and that's just sour grapes!

But many would say that Labour's policies have not been to their taste, so they wouldn't vote Labour.

Many, who may have voted for JC's Labour, did not vote. Many voted SNP. Or UKIP :)eek:) or Green.

'New Labour' has left many feeling disenfranchised, and to suggest that all left leaning voters would vote for Labour as the most left wing party is simplistic, and ignores the deep frustration felt by many.

I would love the UK to have a strong manufacturing sector again,

we already do. its only a few % lower than the EU average, but many want to run down our country or compare us to Germany. what many (the same probably) believe is there are millions of jobs here, when as you observe the move is to high end, specialised products that dont require the man power of old. the irony is those same people are often agains the service sector, failing to recognise that area is one that offers greater employment opportunities for a vast majority of the population.

Haha sounds like he's shitting himself. Transparent idiot.

the family bit takes it too far, but when two policies are print money and reduce armed forces, Corbyn has created a large target that will be easily hit for a large proportion of the population.

Exactly what Michael Fallon said in response to EVERY question he was asked yesterday. Virtually word for word. So unimaginatively, so cliched, so media sound bite. The right wing press will lap it up and go with it, though, repeatedly, boringly...and some on here will bring this mantra up, thinking that they have come up with it themselves. Say it often enough and people will believe it without knowing why. That is the danger.

...and the only people who seem truly committed to regenerating our manufacturing base are committed socialists.

Sadly, the only way to regenerate our manufacturing base to compete on a global level, is to pay rock bottom salaries,....not something that we can sustain here due to the general cost of living......a conundrum indeed.

Yep, repeat repeat repeat. He's the human daily mail and people want him in charge of the UK.

I agree, not one minute of time has been lost at Nissan UK through industrial action. It just goes to show what can be achieved.

And Nissan has a unionised work force as well which is recognised and understood by the bosses.

Unite general secretary Len McCluskey said: “Nissan is a roaring success thanks to the company recognising the value of working with the unions. Not only has the company built over one million cars in the UK over two years, its models are top quality cars. This is a testament to the productivity and the skills of the Sunderland workforce. - See more at: http://www.unitetheunion.org/news/u...ans-unionised-workforce/#sthash.lwpu1aNd.dpuf

This sort of nonsense is exactly what Corbyn stands against. If the Tories continue, and Corbyn carries on stating he's not interested in this sort of politics, I wonder who will be the ultimate beneficiary?

No no it isn't. For example, Finland has higher wages than the UK but they have a successful ship building industry worth around 20 billion euros. Make things the LCC can't make, or make things they need.
