Henderson - Good, he's class and will become f***ing great

I think I told you he was QUALITY nearly 2 years ago. You didn't believe me at first. :p

Henderson is class. The Smalling one is really weird and how he's been picked ahead of Cahill, Shawcross, Jones and even Mancienne I'll never know.
Can't help but feel Bobby again, he'd be playing in all these games but i don't suppose he'll ever get much of a chance again.
re: Jarvis, don't think he is international quality- he is a good player but his touch is a bit dodge. He isn't a patch on Downing, Young, Milner, Lennon or Johnson. Be interesting to see how Matty Phillips progresses at Blackpool though- looks a REAL talent.

AMAZING FACT OF THE DAY:
Michael Manciennes father won Player of the century for the Seychelles.

A bit like winning the award for Scotland's Greatest Ever Beach Volleyball Player, don't you think?

Now is the time to give these players a try, though. Good to see Capello isn't going to overlook the Championship either and surely Bothroyd can't do any worse than Rooney has done for the past year in an England shirt.

Personally, I'd have put Marc Albrighton in as well - he's been in great form and definitely looks like one for the future.

Deserves it!

I've not heard of two of these players. I was surprised to see Bothroyd is 28. And the fact folk suggest Carroll is a 'typical English centre-forward' says all you need to know about him and world football.

What happened to that new fella from last time. The striker. Did he not come up to scratch?

Can someone tell me who Chris Smalling is? I've never heard of Phil Jones either. We must really be scraping the barrel. :nono:

Chris Smalling played for Maidonstone until last season, when Fulham snapped him up. He made his debut for them against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and scored an own goal. In the summer, he moved to Man Utd for £12million. He's probably still in single figures for total league appearances.

Phil Jones is a Blackburn youth team product, and is a classy central defender, but he's been playing in the holding midfield role more this season because he's good on the ball. He's an all action type at the back, and the newspapers are referring to him as the new John Terry.

Thanks. Can't do any worse than the current lot I guess. Not sure we need another John Terry though.

funny, people often say we should pick unfashionable players or those from Championship if the the obvious first 11 arent interested... then when we do, its critisied.

if this is the next generation, they need to play sometime.
