One of the killers of toddler James Bulger is back behind bars after breaching the conditions of his release from prison.
Jon Venables, 27, who with Robert Thompson abducted and murdered James in February 1993, was released from custody in 2001, but he has been recalled following the breach, a Ministry of Justice spokeswoman said.

She added: "We can confirm that Jon Venables has been recalled to custody following a breach of licence conditions.

"Offenders on licence are subject to strict conditions; if they breach those conditions they are subject to immediate recall.

"There is a worldwide injunction in place that prohibits any reporting including reporting on the internet, that could identify him or his location."

Details of the nature of the breach were not released.

Venables and Thompson were aged 10 when they embarked on a crime that stunned the world.

On February 13, 1993, they abducted James from a shopping centre and killed him on a railway line.

The toddler's battered body was found by children playing on a freight railway line 200 yards from Walton Lane police station, Liverpool, and more than two miles from the Strand shopping centre.

Days later Venables and Thompson were arrested in connection with the murder of James, and later charged. They were the youngest to be charged with murder in the 20th century.

There’s a general election coming up so the authorities want to act tough, if there wasn’t an election looming then he’d not have been recalled.

He’s still laughing knowing when he ( the scum) is released he’ll be released into his tax funded sex, drugs and criminal lifestyle.

Show his picture, lets see what the coward looks like.

No wonder this world is a mess.

To be fair, whilst I don't agree with the sentences handed out, it would be a bloodfest if his indentity or whereabouts were known.

The only pictures I'd like to see of those two are of them being doused in petrol and set alight.

Scum.

I only recently read about what these two boys did to Jamie Bulger. I guess at the time the crime was so horrific that the details weren't needed to be in the public domain - and I'd ask people not to repeat them here if they know them (if you're interested do some research). These two boys were totally and utterly barbaric and I'm amazed that they were ever released in any circumstances.

mind you, it was pretty much duplicated by the two brothers in Edgeington last year. So it seems things don't change.

To be fair, if his details and his like were published and they were battered to death then that would send out a bloody good signal unlike the signal that is been seen now by the public, i.e., Commit acts of evil and you’ll be rewarded.

He should be taken out into the streets and stripped naked and let us beat him to death with baseball bats.

What ever Venables has done, does leave the authorities treading a fine line. One thing is for sure which ever jail Venables is in his identity is out. You can have as many bans in the press as you like, however 'mark my words' for Venables the game is up.

How dumb is this.

Yeah that's right because people who are pyscho's will be deterred by such action!!! Perhaps we should burn a paedophile because that would then stop the rest of them doing it! Chop off one thief's hand and that would eliminate that crime from society.

What were the conditions?

I seem to remember that one of them was to refrain from entering Liverpool.

Doubt they ever published them all.

Serious offenders can have all sorts of conditions attached to their licence. It might be that he simply got himself nicked for being drunk & disorderly or something equally minor, but his licence states that he'd be recalled if he was ever charged or convicted of any other offence.

People get recalled to prison all the time.

Not trying to dilute what those two individuals did, it was horrific, but they were children too. How did they get to become like that? I don’t believe for one minute that they were born evil. More like extremely poor parenting, much like those two boys in Sheffield. In a sense they were victims too.

If you believe that Prison is not only to punish, but to rehabilitate (which I do), then hopefully the authorities have decided that years of rehabilitation and trying to undo years of neglect has allowed them to be re-introduced into society…….with conditions.

Both the two individuals have to live with what they have done. For many, they simply cant. Certainly not a life that you and I would recognise.

I think you would find that in these cases there are a lot of suicides and certainly petty re offending. For most Prison is a safer environment.

I find it sad all round. Sad for Jamie Bulger, his poor parents and yes I do feel a sadness for the two individuals that killed him. Sad that they were neglected and turned into dangerous animals. I don’t feel sad for their parents and those like them, who share a heavy responsibility for total neglect. They too should have faced a sentence and a long one too.

very, very well said. the horrific nature of the crime does bring out the worse in all of us though .
