His goal return is good, he has more talent than most and he is some sort of spear head for the attack.

Where people say he should be dropped because he does not run around enough, well that cannot be justified as he scores goals. Zamora was hardly a grafter and nor was John Byrne, so would you have dropped them?

Well not old enough to remember byrne but zamora was genuine class and murray isnt.

Zamora won games by himself and i dont see murray doing that.

Forster is better than murray so id play forster with jr and cox just of him. IMO.

Forster is not going to go on forever and in Murray I would say we have a match winner.

The fact people like yourself are already writing him off is unbelievable. He is the second top scorer and has only been here 3 months.

its just what i think. you like murray and i like jake, thats football. I think we are better suited to a different formation. Clubs like us cant build a team around a pley becasue more often than not the player gets bought. What do we do then. You just have to go transfre window by transfer window.

If you look at murray in his career so far he has 39 goals in 140 odd appearances so not that far of jakes and im sure murray has had more starts in his career.

Ah, stats suit the argument now.

However if you look into those, most of his Carlisle appearances were bit part or sub.

Murray is a better striker to be playing alongside Forster, that is a fact.

Jakes game is about movement and having the ball at his feet, Murrays is about holding the ball up and bringing others into play, which suits Forster very well as he needs someone to play off.

While i would keep Jake, his career as a striker at this club i would say is over. Looks better wide, but as already stated seems to be found out over 90mins and makes more of an impression off the bench.

Not saying stats suit the arguement at all. Just trying to talk on your terms. Why would i use stats to defend my opinion of jake because they arent their and neither are they for murray.

I just prefer jakes style of play and you prefer murrays. I think we both have valid points. I havent said murray doesnt have ability i just would prefer someone abit more active and a little less offside.

But Murray's game is getting into positions to score (although frustratingly he does miss a few), so you will not see the headless chicken running so often shown by Revell.

However Robinson has gone from being a regular last season to a sub this season, at least Murray has done it the other way round.

:lolol:

i dont disagree with all you say but i think we are very stuckin our ways. Thanks for the debate.

But im right.;)

And to think I started this binfest yesterday, purely by saying that I thin Robinson is a good player!

I still stand by my decision though...Jakey to start tomorrow!

This is actually all your fault. ...........i agree with alot that UB says but your opinion has caused all this. Dont speak again:rant:

He doesnt in my point of view. You said at half time against leeds you wouldnt have murray on and would put jake on....(SCR)

So what has murray done since then to warrant playing. Not much.

Jake was ok against portvale and good on tues according to SCR.

Certainly at Leeds I did think he had a below par game, however I think that he should always start with the option of bringing Jakey on. Personally I think jakey struggles with 90 minutes play. he is IMHO an impact player who is able to cuase panic when running at people - that is best done when they are tired!
