Fantastic player for his age and fantastic player full stop. Unfortunately, the fact we rely on him when he’s fit ironically makes his young, still developing body more injury prone. The Hinshlewood Paradox.
More of a conundrum than a paradox.

Doesn't life feel better with Jack back in the side and in the right position? Yes, I know he played at Forest, but with the team we had out that day and no defensive mid cover, he did remarkably well despite the result and his long period out injured. He was great last night.

I just think he's such an intelligent footballer. Great technical skills, vision & awareness of his team mates, isn't afraid to get stuck in (it was pleasing to see him go after Cucurella at one point). Local lad. gets "it". We shouldn't be in a position where we've really missed a 19 year old with barely one full season under his belt, but I really think we have. He's an unbelievably calm, reassuring presence for one so young.

Long may he stay fit.
I agree but my main takeaway from last night was just how good and important to us Baleba is. Astonishing to have a midfield partnership so strong with only 39 years between them. (A lot) younger than most of us NSCers!

Fab is never going to play four in midfield!
I’m not sure the original post was suggesting all four play together ???

After his first start against Villa we had only lost against Chelsea when JH started.

I think

I'm just happy he's upped it to two!
Personally I'd prefer 3.
Under RDZ we often had Mac, Caicedo and Gross which was a great base for our 3 forwards.

I think Baleba, Gomez and Jack could formidable together.

I know that might mean sacrificing a number 10, but in games we need to control I think it would be more solid.

Going to a 2 frequently leaves too exposed on the break.

A great prospect.. He has made the biggest impact when played RB which is not his position, Unless you are a Baleba who can come out of any situation with ball and make surging runs you have to do a lot to make an impact there. Hasnt got there yet and a bit like Gilmore who played so many easy passes.

Future Albion captain, he is so mature and unfazed by everything. You just know he has gained so much from the mentor that is Lewis Dunk and his dad of course.
Well done Adam, you may have had your career unfortunately cut short through injury, but you still keep giving to the Albion.

Yes. Adam's greatest contribution to our club wasn't made on a football pitch.

Presumably anyway

Hinsh is a safe recycler of the ball in the manner of Gilmour. You aren’t going to get a lot of assists. Ayari has another dimension for me, he passes and moves and makes our play more dynamic but maybe risker, I see him developing into a Gross style creator.

It’s all about who will be the best foil for Baleba really. I think on the evidence so far, anyone would be lying if they said they definitely knew the answer. I just hope the manager has an idea

He knows where the goal is though.

I rate Jack massively. If he can stay injury free, he strikes me as the sort of chap who will stay loyal, I honestly think he could be the keystone of our team over the next 3 seasons. He has energy, courage, knowledge, intelligence, brain, stamina, two good feet, great vertical lift. I really think he could quickly become the first pick on the team sheet.

He’s a player who adds a certain mentality to the team which I love. Really excited to see how he develops. He’s only played very few games in CM. Hopefully stays injury free from now, decent pre season, bit of work in the gym and he’s going to be a serious player next year. Predict England caps in 2026.

I’m pretty sure he’ll get a full England cap sooner rather than later.
