find out where he lives from the landlord

if he doesn't pay up, kill a different member of his family for every day that he's late

then kill him

Unless he is planning a runner I think he will give it back. He doesn't know you. You could be a nutter who would f*** him up if he didn't pay up. It would be risky screwing over someone that you know nothing about if there is a chance he will run into you again.

unless he's an alky or junkie. They don't give a f*** about tomorrow's problems, just today's fix.

Tonight's instalment should be fun:

Easy 10: 'Good evening mine host. I've come for my sixty pounds which my very good friend, er, whose name I don't actually know, has assured me has been left behind the bar for me to collect this evening'

Mine host: 'You WHAT?' ???

Not at all. You did a very kind thing to help out another. If this person has let you down then of course its a shame, but comfort yourself not with the thought of being a mug, but with the thought of being a generious and thoughtful human being..

EDIT: Can ya lend us a tenner?

No you're not.

You're one of the good people in the world. Sucks that not everyone can be so trusting and repay that trust and faith.

Suffice to say, my faith in humanity is at something of a low, and I shall forthwith adopt an automatic cynicism and mistrust of people.

Its not the money. Sixty quid doesn't make a huge difference to me in the great scheme of things. Its just the feeling of being taken for a mug. I've been on friendly terms for quite a while with this bloke - I remember I had a long chat with him during the England v Trinidad & Tobago game in the World Cup, and have been on amiable speaking terms with him for quite a while. He did an excellent Halloween fancy dress party down there last year for the kids, he compered the whole thing, did a really good job of it, and my two had a great time. Based on this, I gave him the benefit of some (considerable) doubt I had, and trusted him to help him out of what I thought was a temporary sticky patch.

Anyway, thanks to a very decent chap down there tonight who I've known a long time, and the landlord, I now have his address. I will give him the "benefit" of a weekend to redeem himself before I kick off.

Its just annoying. My other half doesn't earn much more than £60 for a nightshift at the nursing home, so for someone to take advantage of my (usually) good nature for this amount does grate somewhat.

Anyway, its open season. I am officially the biggest MUG on NSC.
Away you go.

Fear not, Easy. There may be a rational explanation and he will come up trumps. Even if you do not get the money back, you can be satisfied that you are a trusting and giving person who sees the best in people. There are not many of them left.
