[Albion] Is there a delay until a ticket shows up on the Ticket Exchange?

Hi there, new member on the forum, and new brightonian (just over two years).

I got a regular ticket + a guest ticket for the Arsenal game, but need to assign the guest ticket to someone else as the original person can't come.

If I understand correctly, I need to release that guest ticket on the ticket exchange, and then immediately try and snap it up. So my question is: is there a delay from the moment I release that guest ticket until it shows up? Basically am I going to release it and then it'll show up randomly a few hours later and someone else will take it? 😓

And bonus points, am I actually going to be able to get that ticket with my same account since I've just released it, is it going to force me to recall the ticket release?

Thank you in advance!

I have no query with ST prices. However I see someone has indicated we also have free travel May I remind that person that from the start an ammount was added to STs to contribute to this. I would estimate attendance last night wouyld more likely have been about 18/20k if all were paying matchday prices and no travel concessions. Certainly have little interest in what other clubs charge but if you want to go down that route and quote Wycombe I will quote Bradford City an ordinary side in Div 2 who get gates of 15/17k because they charge peanuts for STs. and maybe for matchday tickets.
I may tot agree with several issues but I accepted situation a long time ago and only join in when subject comes up.
Many have used the exchange but the biggest winners are the club in new memberships, and an extra ammount on ticket sale. I just think club should give more leaway but only on games that are sold out. I would suggest that ST holders should be able to pass ticket on (only to sold out games ) 3 times instead oF 1.. Also person you give it to does not have to be a member.
To sum up when we have a big game last night and there are about 5k empty seats the present system is not working and could do with a tweak

Although I may not agree with some I accepted a long time ago that now we are in PL the aim is always look at ways to increase income
I didn't say 'free travel', I said the others didn't include travel.

I think it's relevant because, personally, I think we get a good deal - and that's why I respect the club's strategy.

Bradford is a deprived area. Brighton isn't. Which is why I specifically compared us to London teams, up the road.

Also person you give it to does not have to be a member.

Whereas I don't want 100s (maybe 1000s) of additional fans from the big six clubs in home ends...

The root cause of the "5k empty seats" is that we have a lot of season ticket holders who can't/won't make evening games, with a huge number living well outside Brighton.

And, as we've discovered over the last few weeks, some fans are buying season tickets to take advantage of annual discounts and to collect loyalty points with no intention of going to (m)any home games.

And, no, we didn't sell out the "big game". This proves, unequivocally, that the club has to work really hard to sell tickets.

Yet you're advocating giving them away!

Only suggesting a tweak to system on sold out games

Only suggesting a tweak to system on sold out games
- you're suggesting for sold out games (nearly every game is sold out anyway) that sharing tickets no longer requires being a A+ member
- And that you should be able to share tickets for free multiple times a season

Fair enough to want to make it free, and to be able to share STs with anyone But thats not a tweak. Its a fundamental change/ a u turn if you like.

Club have argued in the past that - new A+ memberships aside - that they don't make ££ from the Exchange.
Aren't fans winners too in the sense that tens of thousands of season ticket holders get refunds when they can't get to matches. ?

Was the Exchange up and running yesterday? For the first time in an age I didn't get a buyer for my son's ticket.

With the huge gaps all over ESL and WSL, and there were ten empty seats in a row in our NS row, I wonder what the real attendance was? I know we'll never find out. 25k?

No the exchange never opened for last nights game.

It was close to sell out but Bournemouth returned a block of tickets. (about 1000 ?) . So clearly thousands more ST no shows due to TV / evening KO? + some unsold tickets.
Fulham is already sold out.

Interesting that so many Albion STH's have TNT, it's not cheap. I thought it was the far less popular rival of Sky.

I have listed my ticket and my son's tickets in WSL / Row S (nice seats!) for three home games very recently due to being away/ill/work reasons. Man City, Everton and Chelsea league games .... not a single taker/buyer for all three games despite being sold out well in advance of KO and listed at several days in advance. Never had an issue selling any listed ticket before which is strange.

Suspect that the percentage of ST holders who don't go / and are listing tickets on the exchange is a lot higher now given the recent public comms from the club about next years sanctions for non attendance. Hence harder to shift them.

Lots of reasons wny ST holders don't show i guess - illness, evening KO. Presumably some are TNT subscribers but you're right its £20-£30 a month so some/many won't have it (perhaps they listened to it on the radio !)

Yes fair point. The Chelsea FA Cup and league match only days apart hardly helped the cause either. Annoying as it's a decent rebate if you get x6 exchange refunds back (to be used as a downpayment on a scotch egg in the WSL concourse ; -)

A lot of folk will have TNT as part of their Virgin package. Others will watch it in pubs (maybe not last night) or via streams.

Anyway, all adds up.

We have Virgin with TNT, I can’t recall the details, I think it cost a fair bit more per month to add TNT. It wasn’t a freebee. Does that sound correct?
