[Albion] Is there a delay until a ticket shows up on the Ticket Exchange?

Hi there, new member on the forum, and new brightonian (just over two years).

I got a regular ticket + a guest ticket for the Arsenal game, but need to assign the guest ticket to someone else as the original person can't come.

If I understand correctly, I need to release that guest ticket on the ticket exchange, and then immediately try and snap it up. So my question is: is there a delay from the moment I release that guest ticket until it shows up? Basically am I going to release it and then it'll show up randomly a few hours later and someone else will take it? 😓

And bonus points, am I actually going to be able to get that ticket with my same account since I've just released it, is it going to force me to recall the ticket release?

Thank you in advance!

Can anyone explain why the ticket exchange isn’t open at all times regardless if the match is sold out or not ?

Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me
This. If I was a non ST holder considering going tonight I wouldn’t bother as the choice of tickets is so limited.
All about money. Season tickets are paid for. As they give refund for tickets sold on exchange Club gain little compared with selling unsold tickets.

Wozza .... would you rather seat left empty than given away ??
I would love to give away tickets I can't use, of course..

But it's frustrating to see fans who don't understand the club's predicament and/or the legalities of ticket use/sharing.

Also, I think Albion's season tickets are very fariry priced. If I can't make a game, I take the 'loss' on the chin.

What 'loss' is that then? The £1 admin fee for listing it on the exchange?

Is that right though? I thought they only sold TE tickets at adult pricing? So in theory the club makes more from them than other tickets, even with the refund?

Wheeled out all the time "legalities of sharing". If it was illegal it would be illegal for everyone?? Not just us normal season ticket holders. No prob for 1901 ticket holders. I agree with you on season ticket prices and we`ll take the loss on the chin !! But would prefer to see bums on seats than empty seats.

You don't own the seat. You've paid for a ticket, heavily discounted, for you.

Of course we dont own seats but please dont say club is doing us a favour by selling at discount price. Can assure you it is the ST holders who are doing the favour by comitting to pay for 19 games well in advance. As a matter of interest what do you think the attendance woud be for a cold winter nid week game if no STs sold and all seats were at match day price

This. That's the deal, and always was. STH commits funds to the club up-front in exchange for a discounted price

I think 'favour' tells the story here, and probably explains the misguided entitlement.

Tell me, have YOU paid to watch a one-off match somewhere else recently?

And have you looked at prices of other Premier League season tickets, especially in London?

It is illegal to share a ticket without permission of the ticket seller. In the case of the 1901 tickets, the club have agreed as part of the package that the tickets can be shared. In the case of us regular season ticket holders the club have given us permission to share tickets with Albion+ members through the ticket sharing scheme.

I think the whole ticket sharing, empty seats, membership cost, evening travel is becoming increasingly damaging and complex for the club.
Additionally, casual and some elderly supporters going on the website find it complicated to either purchase tickets, join the membership scheme or list unused tickets. Feels a bit of a mess to me. In my opinion empty seats will continue to be a feature, especially for evening matches.

Can't disagree with that.

Even regulars struggle with the ticket rules - or, as above, "can't be arsed".

Maybe @Bozza could host a FAQ on here.

(Evening games/transport issues a whole different subject, of course...)

So simple to solve problem then. Allow regular season ticket holders to share as per 1901 as per first few seasons at the Amex. Our three tickets were all in my name, anyone could go !!!

Compromise perhaps - pay £20 a season but be able to share with (free) members a few times a season, not just anyone who has paid for A+. Takes literally seconds to register as a member.

I can accept if games were not sold out but find it hard to accept when all tickets sold and club only want to make more money by selling at match day price. to a game when
I have had a call today to say one of our group is ill and wont be going would i like the seat. As it happened an old friend from north is in area for a couple of days. Not really into football but socially would be good to get him along. He certalnly has no wish to become a member and as i am busy today cant be arsed to sit in front of laptop and work it out. I know you all think the system is great but really shouldnt be so difficult to take an old mate to the game when seat has already been paid for.

Delete the ST off your normal phone (or that of a relative) log into account on your pals phone, install ST on said phone and your friend can enjoy the game.

After the show delete it off your mates and reinstall on yours. Everyone I know does this, nobody I know has ever been pulled up… takes about 2 mins 👍🏻

The club's ticketing strategy is now fairly simple and well established.

If you think you may want to buy the odd ticket to a game, get a Fan Number, this is free. This will enable you to buy tickets on general sale, allow a STH mate to to get you a ticket in the guest window, or pick up a ticket on the exchange. Also any home ticket purchase history may give you access to the odd away game too.

If you can't commit to a ST but fancy a few games a season, become an Albion + member or what ever it is called. This will allow you to buy home tickets and give you access to an away ticket window, and in the case of northern games a decent chance of an away ticket.

If you are really keen you can of course buy a ST. If you can't make a game for whatever reason you can list your ticket on the exchange and maybe get a refund if the ticket resells. If you have friends or family that you would like to share your ticket with, make sure they are signed up to Albion+ pay the admittedly irritating fee and you can do this on multiple occasions a season.
Of course a ST also gives you the best chance of away tickets, European games and of course the Cup Final in may.

None of these things are complicated or controversial.

Re your 3rd point, I think the receiving member has to be paid-up Albion+ before you can share your ticket with them.
