[Albion] Is there a delay until a ticket shows up on the Ticket Exchange?

Hi there, new member on the forum, and new brightonian (just over two years).

I got a regular ticket + a guest ticket for the Arsenal game, but need to assign the guest ticket to someone else as the original person can't come.

If I understand correctly, I need to release that guest ticket on the ticket exchange, and then immediately try and snap it up. So my question is: is there a delay from the moment I release that guest ticket until it shows up? Basically am I going to release it and then it'll show up randomly a few hours later and someone else will take it? 😓

And bonus points, am I actually going to be able to get that ticket with my same account since I've just released it, is it going to force me to recall the ticket release?

Thank you in advance!

Certainly at least 3 near us will not be going tomorrow. Even if exchange opens today vey unlikely will be able to shift them. There will be thousands of empty seats. All are not intereed in the money and would be happy to give tickets away to people that that are not in a position to afford a ticket and not just waiting for a freebie. What a pity not able to do this

Hopefully the exchange will open, I’m after another WSU ticket.
I'm not sure if my son is coming yet.

If he's not, I'm happy to do the upgrade if it helps - you'll just need to cover the upgrade charge.

It would devalue match tickets, making sell outs less likely in the future.

Why do people not see this?!

Hi @Bozza that’s such a kind offer from you, thank you. Ellis (legend) at the ticket office has sorted me out another ticket right next to our four some how, so we’re sorted….it‘ll be Mrs. Mack’s first visit to the stadium, I’m so pleased.

thank you ❤️

Would make no difference to sell outs Tickets are available for every game. I certainly would not feel my match ticket was devalued if someone near me that could not usually afford to attend was given a ticket. In fact the opposite i would be pleased for them

That's not quite @Wozza's point.

From the club's perspective, tickets need to be seen to be worth their price point.

If they were easy to give away then the club's pricing structure comes under pressure.

Looking at the Chelsea game, if c4,000 season ticket seats were easily passed on to mates, or "You can have my seat for £20 if you want" then the club are going to struggle to sell their own tickets, particularly when STH may be in supposedly better locations.

That's not to say I'm defending the club's position but, like @Wozza, I do understand it.

I reckon the club puts around 6000 tickets on general sale for each match.

Sometimes, it struggles to sell them.

They'd sell even less if ~4000 unwanted season tickets were floating around on the black market for each game.

The club is working hard to shift £40 seats... and you want the right to pass on your heavily discounted season ticket to a half-interested neighbour for nothing?
