Is making a banner/placard in support of Evra for the Liverpool FA cup game wise?

yeah, it's like when you see WHITE people on civil rights marches. bunch of MEDDLERS.

f*** all to do with that, if you feel so strongly about it go and support Man United. This is a football match between Liverpool & Brighton, for you to hijack that by your own selfishness is wrong, if you put a banner up near me it's coming down quicker than it went up.

Suarez was wrong, and fully deserved a ban. But Evra is a victim of racial abuse, not an innocent victim. Read the report, he initiated the 'chat' with Suarez by saying "Your sister's c**t", and in Spanish, so he made sure Suarez understood what was being said. For Suarez to come back with what he did was totally wrong, a kick in the f***ing face would have sufficed instead.

Evra has form with this unsavoury stuff - he got into a tangle with a groundsman at Chelsea, then accused the guy of racism. Evra got a fine for this incident, so he was in the wrong.

Both players are shitbirds in my opinion, any attempt at a show of support for a piece of shit like Evra with some half-arsed banner will set up our fans for trouble afterwards. Did you ever go to Liverpool in the 80s? Nasty f***ing bastards when they want to be.

A couple of points.

1. Nowhere in the FA report does it state Suarez is a racist.
2. Evra is shown to lie at least three times in the report (initially stating Suarez used the word 10 times, then 5 times, then 7 times, eventually settling on 'once'). And Suarez is held up as the less credible witness?
3. The Liverpool fans were booing him and calling him a liar based on the point above. They weren't using racist terms (apart from one knobhead doing monkey gestures, but let's face it, every team's supporters have a quotient of knobheads).
4. All Liverpool supporters are racists in the same way that all Brighton supporters are gay. Yes, tedious isn't it?

Go up to Anfield and display your racist accusations to them directly outside the Kop before the game. I dare you. Prick.

.

No he didn't accuse them of racism, Mike Phelan did. And in the incident with Steve Finnan, he didn't do that either.

Lots of people talk a lot of shit about Evra having previous, but it's simply not true

You dont seem to be responding to the vast majority of posts that think your idea is utterly stupid?

apologies, the banner is being furled up as we speak.

grateful for your thoughts. i believed the following the best arguments:

Give a fiver to an anti racism charity to do some proper good, rather than a futile gesture in completely the wrong environment.

Firstly, the whole "racist" saga is a complex issue, with the waters massively muddied by a variety of factors,

It's at least two of those.

with this issue and the reaction of the Liverpool fans in the FA Cup against Man U I'd worry about the reaction it would provoke and wonder wheter there could be a different way to make your valid point.

we've got our own issues at the moment, I don't see any mileage in drawing attention to ourselves in any controversial way

There was only one racist in the crowd and it looks like they've charged him. Unless you're a United fan I can't see the point of antagonising the opposition fans, unless you simply want to get on the tv.

don't get suckered into their mess and let our footie do the talking please.

though it's a shame you get spineless morons saying 'it's not our battle'. donaster rovers, fans united, etc.? amazing how short-term some peoples' memory is, and how inconsistent they're prepared to be.

anyway, good night, and good luck.

Solidarity in the name of football..!! This is entirely a different matter altogether and goes to the heart of society, and for that reason alone, yes it really isn't our place to get invovled. So get off your f***ing sanctimonious high-horse and accept that it was not a good idea in the first place.

Yeah, run along, just because most people want to go to Liverpool to watch a football match and nothing else, they're "spineless morons"? What an arrogant little prick

I've changed my mind, put it up, I want you to, I suggest a showing outside here half an hour before kick off

I really don't think you can compare a spat between two rich, foreign, non-Albion footballers with Fans Utd. I think that's a bit of an insult to the whole Fans Utd concept tbh.

Unveiling banners at the Play-off final in support of Wrexham - Yes.
Unveiling banners at Anfield slagging them off as a load of racists - Not really going to help anybody and could make things worse.

The Championship.
Now that would be pointless ???

Instead of getting into ANOTHER shit storm like Gus did with the whole thing why not just get behind the team at Anfield?

Simple really.

I think when people are saying "it's not our battle" they are (rightly) stating that Man U and L'pool have sweet fanny adams to do with us, they are hardly saying that we condone racism ffs. And a banner "in support of" a United player held aloft by fans of a club other than United AT LIVERPOOL? No, I don't think it would be wise.

I'd be up for a banner saying THIS KNOB IS A SELF-SATISFIED, SMUG, SANCTIMONIOUS, ARROGANT DO-GOODER.

But then the banner would be too long and would get in everybody's way.

Its a football club not a political party.

Once again elements of the left want to hyjack an event for their own ends. Doesn't matter what the issue is or how right it is, if you feel strong enough about it go on a demo or march and just f*** off and leave everyone else alone.

Why not call for Gus to be sacked considering his views he expressed? If you feel that strong about it. f***ing hypocrits, just go and do one.

I will try and make it easier for you, but I suspect you may still some help from one of your mentors down at the ACE.

So, Poyet never abused Evra, BUT he did robustly defend Suarez and went on the record to say that what Suarez said to Evra was not racist.

If you want to portray Suarez/Liverpool as racist, ergo Poyet is at the very least an apologist for a racist................so rather than attack Liverpool and their backward ways, why not bring your moral enlightenment closer to home and attack Poyet for his backward ways.

A nice big banner up at Liverpool with Poyet dressed as Hitler (just a suggestion) would ingratiate yourself with your fellow fans no end......you are doing a really good job at the moment.

On the other hand if you feel so strongly about it, why dont you get yourself up to the very next Liverpool game? You can make your (valid and fair) point without any attachment to BHA.........job done.

You wont though, because you are probably too young and whilst you are well meaning and love your Mum lots you have tragic self esteem issues that mean you need to validate your own evolving political ideas on a public forum relating to BHA. My suggestion is to stop obsessing about grown up matters that you cant grasp and spend a few hours on Xhamster.............relax a little.
