Is making a banner/placard in support of Evra for the Liverpool FA cup game wise?

'you're all a bunch of f***ing racists'

we could get it sponsored by the sun newspaper to help with costs maybe

Firstly, the whole "racist" saga is a complex issue, with the waters massively muddied by a variety of factors, which as people have previously said on this thread, have nothing to do with Brighton

Secondly, the jibes about the Sun are really low, and pretty cringeworthy in many ways, a typical cheap jibe

To be frank, er.. no.

Give a fiver to an anti racism charity to do some proper good, rather than a futile gesture in completely the wrong environment.

Spot on.

Futile sums it up perfectly.

Its very very rare to see someone doing it, and in most cases I think a stern word or more would probably be had, along the lines of, "you shouldn't be reading that"... as I say though, it doesnt happen very often at all...theres a boycott as I'm sure you know, and it is very well supported on Merseyside on the whole

Better to just stay out of it, isnt a club issue so we shouldnt get involved. Well Gus defended Suarez and i think the whole case is sketchy myself, but its better if we didnt do anything except just support the team.

I think some issues transcend football club allegience and are worth defending regardless of what the gaffer has or hasn't said. That said with this issue and the reaction of the Liverpool fans in the FA Cup against Man U I'd worry about the reaction it would provoke and wonder wheter there could be a different way to make your valid point.

after the disgusting scenes at anfield last weekend, i feel obliged to make a point. but is this too late/ineffectual/inappropriate?

By and large I would always side with BHA fans whatever the circumstances, however the atitudes of some BHA fans on this board after the Palace game indicate that the bedwetters cant wait to report fellow fans to the Police and Stewards for behaviour they disagree with.

So, in the sprit of this prevailing attitude I think you should go for it.......................make the banner big and bold....................f*** what people on here say, your a big boy now (on the internet).

Quite how you would react to the locals scallys is up for grabs.......................you would definitely deserve whatever surprise they would have in store for you because you are a grade A 24 carat prick.

But then it would probably be an innocent BHA fan who would get sparked because you want to make a point whilch is all wrapped up in your own piss and self importance.................you are lower than a dog..............you should be put down.

So for making a fair and valid point that the OP believes in they deserve whatever punishment the home fans decide to dish out?

Well, if you are that upset about the whole Suarez/Evra affair and consider Liverpool's support (club and fan wise) for Suarez is wrong and therefore a protest is "fair and valid".............why not mock up a banner of Poyet as Hitler.

That would be more relevant to BHA...........then your fellow BHA fans can dish out the punishment you (and the OP) deserve. I can't wait..............no really.

I don't understand the connection between Poyet being mocked up as Hitler and Saurez using the language he said he did against Evra, Evra reporting it then Liverpool fans chanting against Evra.

That's because you are an idiot.

Gus Poyet backs Luis Suarez in race row
Brighton manager Gus Poyet has offered to testify in court to defend Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
Suarez, 24, was charged by the Football Association on Wednesday with racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra in October.
But Poyet told talkSPORT : "Luis is not a racist. We use different words and it is a different situation."
Poyet's remarks have been described as "inappropriate" by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The 69-year-old would not be drawn on saying anything about the Evra situation, under instructions from the FA, but he was upset with Poyet's comments.
"I'm surprised by Gus Poyet's remarks," Ferguson said. "It's inappropriate at a time when people throughout the world are condemning racism.
"I can understand why he wants to support someone from his country but I think he should think more about it. His criticism of Evra is a bit silly."
Poyet moved to England with Chelsea in 1997 and had a spell with Tottenham before moving into coaching at Swindon and then Leeds.
He believes fellow Uruguayan Suarez needs time to adapt to the cultural differences of playing in the Premier League and feels the English game does not do enough to help foreign players.
He said: "You cannot accuse people without a proper investigation, especially when it's a foreigner who is coming from a different place where we treat people of colour in a different way.
"So it was very easy to accuse someone. Luis Suarez is 100% not a racist.
"Me, I'm not racist. I've lived with people of different colours in different countries and I adapted to every single situation. Suarez needs to adapt to England, and England needs to adapt to the players that come here.
"England needs to understand how the rest of the world lives. If we have that understanding, easy."
Evra made his claims immediately after the 1-1 draw on 15 October and was quoted as telling French TV station Canal Plus: "There are cameras, you can see [Suarez] say a certain word to me at least 10 times."
But Poyet believes Suarez has no case to answer.
"You are not racist when you go against one, but you are if you go against the whole world of different colour and nationalities. That is being racist, not saying one word in one moment," he added.
"If that's what you want, fair enough. I take it and accept it. I had to behave in a different way because I've been in England for 13 years. So I know what you are like and I adapt to that. Give Suarez another six months and I think he'll be how you want him to be."

If you dont like the Poyet/Hitler mock up..........how about a Uruguayan Flag with a swastika?
