I think what actually happened was that a few palyers were doing some late night training at the King Alfred and stopped off at a hotel for some fluid replacement. A crowd gathered outside the window to see the Brighton stars and Kuipers decided to show off byt turning the water into wine.

My late father related a story about Brian Clough in his young days.

Town were playing Middlesborough ( may have been Sunderland), anyway, Clough was their centre forward and he scored four goals that day and was brilliant seemly - anyway, after he scored his third goal, he walked away from the goal and promptly threw up.

The local paper ran a story about this and it turne dout that he was hammered and had been drinking on the morning of the match at the local pub!!!

I wouldnt report it to the club as it is not my duty but it is said that many players read this board and no doubt they will know who it is and who is letting their teammates down.

:thud:

It's hard to know where to start with that post.

So you want players to know via someone who was working at a hotel, who spoke to you, who put it on a messageboard, which might or might not be read by some players, though not all, who, in turn, you would feel that it would be their duty to inform the manager, even though they don't know who it was, where it was or even if it was true...?

the thing that pisses me off with this sort of thing (not saying anything has happened with Brighton players)is there are well decent footballing kids out there who would give their right arm to even get a chance to play professional football.
and all those players who have been drunk and playing have been exceptional players and whoever these players are they surely can't be in that category and if they THINK they are certainly did'nt show it in the last two games

What are you on Al?

If I was a player who was not involved I would have the arsehole about my teammates and would let them know how I felt. I would make them feel guilty themsleves that they had let me and my other team mates down in what was our biggest, most important game of the season. I am sure that if there is any truth in this call most of the players would soon know who it concerned.

Nothing to do with telling the manger and getting them disciplined, more about letting me down when I have tried my hardest.

Wouldn't report it to the club in confidence but quite happy to post it on a public messageboard.

So you thought you'd play prosecutor and put that sort of stuff on here?

If these other non-involved players already know, what purpose is served by putting it on here? Apart from shit-stirring, of course.

Again as a player after having read this I would want to find out the truth as to whether I have been let down by my so called teammates, and in general chit chat in the changing rooms at training the truth will come out.

Hang on, which way round to do you want it?

If a player hasn't heard about this alleged incident, apart from on here, they're going to be none the wiser as to whom it might be. So to go to the training ground and ask about 'something they read on NSC' is going to be tantamount to shit-stirring.

If they did alredy know about it, they're not going to worry about reading it here.

Whatever, I think you'll find they don't tend to use North Stand Chat as their primary source of changing room gossip.

If you've done this with a view to making us supporters aware of it, you've found you've hit a level of severe apathy. If you've done this with a view to creating changing room disharmony, we're back to 'shit-stirring' again, aren't we?

Either way, it's not directly your business, only indirectly from whether you care that it affects any players' performances.

I cannot believe the reaction to this as I would consider it a serious matter of personal pride towards myself, my teamates and the club that pay my wages and the fact that I am doing a job that I love and that thousands of people envy me for.
