...At the end of the day, Knight has been running the club for years and we've bumbled along as a mediocre division three club while over the past ten years, fans have been asked to write, pay for sky high ticket prices (not now, but was the case at one time), and throw extra cash into begging buckets of various guises. And they're still tweaking the Falmer plans and the playing side is looking toilet.

Forgive me if I soon get to the stage where I feel enough is enough.

TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS and a winning PLAYOFF FINAL ??

The imminent prospect of a FANTASTIC new STADIUM ??

What more do you want ??

Fair enough Titanic regarding past glories. But I'm not letting you get away with "the imminent prospect" of Falmer. We're not - nothing has been built yet.

Of course, I will give due credit if it ever gets built. I guess I'm just very disillusioned at the moment.

I know about as much as you do, I'm not suggesting otherwise. But I saw NO newspaper talk whatsoever that could have been considered an attemp to actively encourage his interest.

Nor should you have. If I was David Gold, and my name was splashed across the papers regarding this, I'd have been appalled. Any interest he may have had would have been completely irrelevant - and still is.

Negotiations for this sort of thing are confidential and are not anyone else's business until some sort of deal is reached, signed and appropriately announced.

What you do NOT do if you want to attract investors, is let the papers know in order for them to fill their boots and think they're running a story. It serves no purpose, and is almost always counter-productive.

Further still, the fact that the papers did not carry any story about any private discussions or negotiations which may or may not have happened does not imply anything.

if we do man city on wenzdee then some cashed up arab might chuck some shrapnel our way ....maybe.....? we have one of the biggest singular catchments in england and unfortunately one of the least progressive/supportive councils-local governments, it will take serious money and that money in the current financial climate , will not come from the U.K FACT.

If I were a potential investor I would be actively discouraged by a club trying to attract me through the media.

I don't really see what you're arguing about. It's common sense that you don't conduct your business through the press, but what harm would have been done to court interest in the first place?

How do you know that interest wasn't courted through private channels and in much more detail than could ever have been done through the press?

On the subject of David Gold I really don't know how you think you can have an opinion one way or the other when you know nothing of what did or didn't go on.

what on earth are you talking about? B&H Council (and especially the Labour councillors) have backed us to the hilt.

If it weren't for their backing and them giving us some of the land, the Falmer scheme would never have got off the ground and to call the council one of the least progressive...well that's just plain ridiculous :shootself

I think you will find that Steve Foster had a consortium that was turned down

Is that the same Steve Foster who's currently involved with Luton Town?

We must hope that any future potential investor does not read NSC.

If he reads some of the baseless, gratuitous criticism of the current chairman and board, he will think, "Why should I bother to put my money into a club to get that sort of abuse from fans who think they deserve success, and criticise, knowing little or nothing of what goes on behind the scenes. Especially when I will probably never see a return on my money."

i am prepared to stand corrected , but you cannot disagree that a 26,000 all seater stadium at the king alfred site with a light rail link , pubs , knocking shop and a casino would have been shmmoookin.....

Yes.

Anyway I'm happy for Dick Knight to continue, but if there are a few doubts in my mind; the money for Falmer, if they secure that then I will be very impressed. The ticketing situation - sky high prices for the worst facilities in the league, and the most amateurish set up probably of any football club anywhere, needs sorting out. And Micky Adams.
