Good points Alan, but turn it around what bank will invest in falmer looking at those facts then?

Thankfully, those facts are largely irrelevant.

Comparing the Albion and its operations at a crappy Withdean, and what the Albion at Falmer with its supporting infrastructure can offer is a bit pointless.

One of the hardest point from the fans' point of view that the club has to do is convince the banks that there is a realistic prospect of getting a 12,000 average home gates. Seems fairly distant after this weekend's performance (which thankfully I missed), but in reality is very do-able.

We won't get 12,000 whilst the club is not in the Championship. I know people will point at Leeds and say that they get over 12000 in this division - Leicester too probably but these are clubs with a traditionally huge support anyway as are both the Sheffield clubs in whatever division they may play in. After a few more of yesterday's type of performances the only promotion that will be taking us to falmer will be one from League 2 to League 1.
For whatever reason - the delay in agreement for the ground being the main one - we have lost the impetus that we gained when coming back to Brighton and we need to regain that. If we go to falmer whilst in League 1 we will be playing to crowds of about 6 or 7 thousand possibly 8 after the early euphoria has worn off.

Can't really blame the chairman for our players being shit. Dick Knight's certainly not the perfect chairman - he loves the sound of his own voice too much, his decision to bring back Adams is looking questionable and there's all the rumours about interference and Turienzo etc - BUT I don't see anyone better around.

Dick Knight owns 23% of the shares.

He does.

Copying a recent post, it does appear Tony Bloom has been investing in the club recently.

H R Knight 1,602,500 23.4%
W Brown 1,100,000 16.0%
A Bloom 850,000 12.4%
Pig City Incorporated Ltd 750,000 10.9%
K Griffiths 582,000 8.5%
R Bloom 535,000 7.8%
Friday ad holdings 500,000 7.3%
D Chapman 460,750 6.7%
M Hastlow 150,000 2.2%
R Pinnock 142,000 2.1%
J Gold 100,000 1.5%
J Vickers 50,000 0.7%
J Hirschel 15,000 0.2%
E David 10,000 0.1%
P Mcdonnell 10,000 0.1%
J Town 5,000 0.1%
M Perry 130 0.0%

However, Dick can still out-vote the Blooms. However, this is not really the issue. One, Tony Bloom is not on the Board, and two, there's hardly a boardroom coup in the offing.

Hmm, who are Pig City Inc? Also interesting to see that someone I presume to be Jacqueline Gold has some shares...

TLO those figures are slightly out of date.

Michael Hastilow invested further in club in 2008 and now holds 250000 shares (3.6%).

Someone ought to let The Observer and Norman know...! (Plus, we are a city (only in name though))

Norman Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim, has been a resident of Brighton for 25 years and is a director of the town's football club, Brighton & Hove Albion. Cook was a leading figure in the 10-year campaign to find Albion a new home after the club's Goldstone Ground was demolished in 1997, a campaign that succeeded when plans for a new stadium in Falmer were approved last year.

...I'm a director but not on the board because I don't want to get involved with the running of the club.
