I agree with what a lot have said on here, about singing it before kick off. Get the words on the screen and SBTS vibrating round the Amex.

Hmm, not sure about putting the words on screen.. what with "Now is the time for marching, Now let your hearts be gay" and "For we’re the men from Sussex
Sussex by the sea, We plough and sow and reap and mow and useful men are we"

I think the away fans will be laughing at us all the way to Dick's bar! :lolol:

TBH I cant see many of our fans wanting to sing about merry bugles and being gay, Especially the younger one's who are the future of the club.

This was done by Mike Bamber in 1980. And so we ran out to the tune that identifies all of Sussex,....... the theme from the film Rocky!!!!!

It didn't last long and SBTS returned to its rightful place as our anthem

And when we were so unceremonious;y booted out of the Goldstone in 1997, the firtsy thing I did was hunt out a CD with the military band version on, so that I could remember what it sounded like and how I felt when I heard it boom through the tinny Goldstone speakers!

Really? I feel that they are both pop tunes by a guy who supports the Albion. They do not hold any resonance whatsoever for me. Did they paint the walls at Falmer with Sandtex paints for the resonance, or are all conferencing flip charts and white boards going to be supplied by Nobo for because they were once associated with the club?

Certainly not suggesting either as replacement for GOSBTS

just saying that both tunes very much have a connection with Withdean years - always played at ground, on club vids/dvds, strong connection to Brighton via artist and label, and the lyrics

We've come a long long way together,
Through the hard times and the good,
I have to celebrate you baby,
I have to praise you like I should

Nobo and Sandtex were simply sponsors and not fair comparison. these two tunes definitely have a connection to the club's recent history.

IMHO should be the traditional GOSBTS when the teams come out and, ideally, a FBS remix of same when we're all filing out at the end. The ska version feat. one man and his kazoo should be consigned to the dustbin of history. No offence.

Would it not be too hard to have a vocalist on the pitch singing the words to which I'm sure with the acoustics of the stadium would be brilliant. Perfect example here without acoustics

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

I was walking by the old steine this afternoon and I could faintly hear strains of this song being played. Anything interesting going on in town?
