Is it the end for centre right/right wing politics?

The PM will be the leader of the party that can form an administration.

Should the Labour Party have most cadidates returned, then Brown, as he is the leaader of the Labour Party, would seem to be the most likely PM. Might be a minority administration as it was in 1974, but he will be the PM until the government falls.

If the next government is a Lib / Lab coalition I'd expect Brown to step down, Labour to elect a new leader who will become PM, Cable as Chancellor, Clegg a top job - one of Foreign Sec, Home Sec, Defence.

If there is no party with an overall majority and the LibDems hold the balance of power, and are true to their proportional representation stance, then they should back the party that has received the most votes, not the most seats and that is most unlikely to be Labour!!!
