[Football] Is it OK to support more than one team?

Personally, I don't (I'm a Brighton fan through and through, thankfully) but there are some clubs for which I have a soft spot, as in, there's a connection with a former player, or a club on the continent that I've seen live etc.

That said, that's my personal preference to only support Brighton. If someone wants to support multiple clubs, it really is no business or mine. I'm not the gatekeeper of how other people live their lives and if it adds something for them? Fair play, Enjoy it.

I have a friend of mine who's from London and is a Spurs fan, his son is a Brighton fan because he lives down here and he decided that he wanted his son to watch football regularly if it took his fancy. He now supports Spurs and Brighton (he says about 60%-40%). He loves it and he and his son go to the Amex every home match as a family experience. I've no quarrel with that at all.

Yes.

When I watch my son play in his football team, Leamington F.C play, Kenilworth Wardens play cricket or BHAFC play it all means something. Some, more than others.

My view is, if it means something you are a fan. If it effects your mood you are a fan. I've not lost any sleep but got the hump with the San Francisco 49ers this year ffs. If you support Man City because they are successful you are just a complete bell end. If you support Man city for 30 years, go to the games and have recently wanted to boot the cat, Good on you. That's what being a fan is all about.

It’s fine. I support 4 teams.

Brighton.
England.
Anyone who’s playing Phalarse.
Anyone who’s playing Arsewipe.

Not another team in the same division surely?
Preferably a foreign or non league team.
This . . . . Steyning from childhood/school, Shoreham as my home town, BHA obviously . . . . . I will admit to having a like for watching certain teams at certain times, but briefly. Viallis Chelsea with Zola and Gullit being an example, but never Manure or Palace obvs.

Foreign teams depending on where I'd travelled and watched the odd game. Petrolul PLoiseti anyone?

Yes absolutely. My true local team is Shoreham (who due to Premier League costs I now go to most weeks) but my nearest league club are the Albion and follow them too.

As a primary aged kid I did follow a ‘big’ team as well as us but soon grew out of it.

There are spells where I might like the way another team plays - I did like watching Wenger’s tippy tappy team that never won anything eg the Santi Cazorla period and some of those great ‘team’ goals.

But I THINK I have only ever paid to watch one club team and it will be ever thus - Brighton and Hove Albion are my team and always will be.

Always supported the Albion and Whitehawk, the difference is that when the Hawks lose I can shrug my shoulders and carry on, an Albion defeat can send me into a black mood for days.

Yes. As already has been said there's plenty of people just like me (Albion STH and long time non league fan - Hastings United)

liking is not supporting a team. i've liked many teams for various reasons over the years, look out for their score, prefer them to do well over others. but i only actually care about the results for BHA. that's the difference imo.
Yeah, this. I have many teams I like as I like to have a dog in the race.

There are three teams I used to actively choose to pay to matches at. And only their fixtures I would be interested in watching live in that way. Albion, Aldershot Town and Whitehawk. I guess that makes me a supporter.

There are a number of teams I like seeing do well, but they vary. That's just 'following' a team. Very different.
