Having trawled through this thread, though i better add my thoughts.
-Not goona bother answering any of bushys inane shite, he is in the british army and they are pretty much brainwashed to be anti-irish from enrollment, the irish may have taken some british money for infrastructure etc but in my mind that is a fair payback for all the shit over the years.
Back to why i love ireland.
-As a british citizen with a noticeably british accent in over eight years i have never once been treated any differently to any irish person (except the obvious ribbibg over the rugby recently)
-Ireland has no real army-blessing in my mind
-No nuclear power or arms.
-A better attitude to both life and death, when you die over here it means something.
-Generally a better sense of community.
-In over eight years (touch wood) never been a victim of any type of crime.
-I beleive that in general the lanscape is far more unspoilt on the whole, large parts of the uk are one large town after another.
-No council tax.
-No water rates.
-In my opinion generally better schooling ( i have 2 kids)
-Less attitude, i find in th uk a lot of people seem stressed out and have a serious attitude problem.
-However I wouldnt suggest ireland is perfect and was recently in brighton and had a fantastic time and met loads of friendly/helpful people ( but im not sure brighton is the norm for the uk)
