Championship-quality football on display during the first 45 minutes.

I do wonder what Fabian says before KO ? as we’re often listless in the first 45… there’s no fire whatsoever, going through motions, mechanical and predictable with it.. it’s a shame, as I believe there’s a good coach & tactician in there somewhere as we’ve seen (more often than not) as a response to a listless opening.

I’m happy to give him time, cut him some slack etc. but I do wonder if we plucked him from the developmental nest 🪺 way before he was fully fledged ? Alas, that usually equates to a rapid demise… he could have turned us down I suppose, waited until he’d been tested in Germany, perhaps that would have been the smart thing to do… maybe this one is it going to quite work out, not a disaster, let’s not get all hyperbole, but it feels a bit Oscar Garcia to me, and I mean that in the nicest possible way… not that memorable or particularly inspired… hey ho, if we were top four he’d be off to a big club either now or at the end of the season.

We simply can’t win… which is rather ironic 😂

Other observations. Ref is a homer allowing all their robust challenges, very very precisely penalising us for every one. Kalvin’s hairstyle …. pretentious twat.
I didn't see it that way. I think he's let the game flow (as much as it is flowing, which it isn't). I'm getting flashbacks to the home game - without the Albion shots on goal.

We play as if we are trying to get to 60 minutes level, then bring on subs to get a result. Why not let our early dominance give us a lead?
Because Ipswich are doing that same keeping their players in their own half for the first 20 minutes. So many bodies behind the ball.

I think this is our tactic. Put the better players on the bench and try and get to half time with the scores level and then unleash them hoping for a win.

I genuinely believe that’s how FH has set this up.

He knew that we’d face an almost impenetrable deep block in the first half, hence the 3 central midfielders leading to Baleba not having much to do.

We have a lot on the bench for Ipswich to worry about including our best striker partnership of Welbz and Georginio.
Is this “the Brighton way?” ie we let other teams dominate one half but hope we don’t lose because of. Certainly explains all the draws. High risk, just missing the reward bit :)

We look like a J-league team.....loads of possession, lots of skill, and very little product to show for it. That'd be ok if we were playing another J-league team. Which we're not. When Ipswich get a sniff, they're very quick, very direct and look likely to score.

We've got to play quicker. Mitoma and Adingra not at the races at all. Defence having a decent game so far.
