Yet another training injury, it HAS to be the intensity of training for us to have so many of them, surely?

Can't wait for that new german doc to start working. What a mess we're in!
I agree. It is looking more and more like there is a training issue of some sort as it's getting slightly ridiculous now. I assume no one asked about Solly's return today as there was talk of him being back before the end of the season and another poster has hinted that he may not play for us again which I hope is guesswork rather than inside knowledge of a major setback and we are just not risking him in dead rubbers?

Sounds from this as if it may be a minor turn of the ankle

Which must happen all the time and is just unlucky if it's 1 or 2 days before a match

If it was down to training then how do you explain last season? It’s bad luck that’s all.

Although players are more at risk of injury in games because of the combative nature of matches I am fairly certain more injuries occur in training than a match simply because they spend the vast majority of their time training.

Lets say, and this is probably on the conservative side, they spend 20 hours a week training. Then the match itself counts for just 7% of their time. It looks worse this season because of the sheer amount of injuries we've had but I'm fairly certain analysis of previous seasons would have more injuries occuring in training than matches. This season has just magnified it.

We’ve heard of players getting injured warming up before a game (not just us) so it’s just bad luck. It happens.

To answer my own question he was indeed asked about Solly being ready for next season and the answer was..."no". 🙁

He was actually asked if they (Solly, Jack and Karou) would be ready for the start of pre-season. His reply was Solly wouldn't be. Solly got injured late October, they then had to delay surgery to repair the ACL till the start of December as they did surgery on his meniscus tear first. Considering recovery from an ACL injury normally takes on average around 10 months to a year before a player is back in full training and getting ready to start games, then him making it back for pre-season would have been amazing. He said Hinsh and Mitoma should be back for the start of pre-season, then added Milner would be too, but Pervis wouldn't be.

Yep, just listened again and the question was indeed about being ready for pre-season which does make a difference - thanks.

Yeah, but how many times this season has RDZ done a pre match and come out with yet another training ground injury when the player seemed fine after the previous game. Seems to be every single press conference now.

Too many training ground injuries, medical team leave en masse, new highly rated medical team coming in next season, maybe the fact we haven’t currently got a full specialised medical team and therefore aren’t treating players as well as we should be?

None of us know anything so draw our own conclusions, mine is that the training is causing too many injuries, maybe it’s sub standard treatment too

It's just a gut feeling but I can't believe that most of our injuries this season are just down to bad luck. Hopefully the new doc will sort things but I'm not holding my breath.

Blâme RDZ because we never had any injuries before he arrived, even though Crofty takes training. Got it.

So Crofty sets the training regime, takes training and RDZ sits around smoking and drinking coffee watching games on his Ipad, yeah I think I’ve got it now

Right so you suggest I am blaming RDZ and then give me a list of others who take training. You are being a little sensitive and defensive of RDZ aren’t you? He is the boss everyone else does what he tells them to do, the buck stops with him. As I said it’s my opinion and your defending him won’t change my mind. Not saying I am right though, just my take on it. Other opinions are just as valid, even just bad luck I suppose.

Im sure I remember RDZ saying that he wants his players to train at 100% which was new to them - can't remember where now. Whatever the reason - and the likelihood is its a combination of various factors including bad luck - we could really do with a quieter treatment table next season.

It's not just today, courtesy of some actual evidence that someone has got injured in training (it's JP and RDZ has said that the injury happened today and it might mean he can't play tomorrow). Yet even before this, a narrative has developed that our players are picking up their injuries during training. For those that are spreading this, see how much clear evidence you can provide for this claim. I, and hopefully others, are not interested in conjecture, it's clear evidence like a comment from RDZ in a press conference or something else suitably robust.
We had someone claiming that Pervis picked up his injury in training when it was announced, but this followed on from a prolonged dip in form following on from the injury that he picked up towards the end of last year and him departing the field against Burnley after 13 minutes.
And that's without considering an entirely reasonable argument raised on this page by @Joey Jo Jo Jr. Shabadoo explaining why it is that it's perfectly understandable that training injuries occur more regularly than we'd expect.

Looking forward to an abundance of evidence being provided.
