From AS Roma website: https://www.asroma.com/it/notizie/7...si-giallorossi-che-si-recheranno-in-trasferta

Key bits:
  • Usual meeting point - King & Queen
  • AS Roma fans can use either local buses or trains to transfer to the Amex
  • Alcohol will NOT be served in the ground
  • They'll be kept in for a minimum of 30 minutes
  • They'll then be escorted to station (apart from those on organised coaches)
I wonder how many flares they'll manage to smuggle in.
Smuggle? They show them to the security who make sure there is a nice variety of colours for a good display and give them an indication of when to light and where to throw. They're away supporters, that what we do at the Amex.

I know the police dont bus Palace fans to the ground but surely having no busses for Roma fans is a recipe for disaster?

I really don't understand why the authorities would change arrangements from the previous three games.
With the exception of Amsterdam we have been treated like cattle but just accepted it, why would we treat Roma fans any different, especially with the reputation they have.
I simply don't get it.

Bus companies won’t carry them after incidents with Marseille. In Italy they have special buses for the occasion.

What happened with Marseille? They were normal buses in Italy.
They were not 'special', but they were from a state-owned bus company - and thus they could be mandated to provide the required service.

The suggestion being made for today, is that none of the privately owned bus or coach companies here are prepared to provide the necessary coaches for the Roma fans, and thus laying on such a service is not possible.

What time would/will people be catching the train from Brighton to avoid potential trouble. I’m travelling down from London and fear entering some mass brawl on arrival at 18:45!

If you head up there now, you'll definitely avoid it all.
