At the station, when the train arrived, some people were getting off, including a pregnant lady, we did our best to form a gap for her to come through, which involved some pushing and shoving. I did try and make space and got a bloke in my face telling me not to push him. I told him I wasn't doing any such thing, just trying to help the lady out, he said "don't f***ing push me, you pushed me, I don't like being f***ing pushed". He didn't seem to care about the pregnant woman, only himself and getting on the train. Perhaps he was anxious in the circumstances, it was quite a crush, but no need for such aggressive confrontational behaviour.

Sadly that sort of behaviour is not exclusive to football fans. Had an almost identical situation happen to me boarding a rush hour tube train at Victoria. I stepped back to allow a man with a guide dog off the train, only to be confronted by some cjtc ranting at me “ what the f*** are you playing at, get on the f***ing train moron”

Post Covid away fans has changed significantly to Stone Island, CP7 types (old and young) who are quire aggressive but not particularly threatening.

That said CPFC away really is becoming a nightmare these days, behind me someone called the linesman a f***ing coon and repeatedly used the C word which to me is fine however there were females and younger fans near by.

And before all you PC experts say why didn't you report him, not for me thanks given how aggressive he was and on the Met Police march back to the station the weed stink nearly made me high as a kite.

I wasn’t there last night but I don’t think calling people out on this thread for racist abuse and having a pop at your own fans is being a wet wipe.

Two of the fights were a few rows in front of me. Seemed to be a combination of pissed up (or coked up) lads mixed with sober left wing guys who didn't like their comments about their lino. Lots of accusations of racism. To be clear I was too far back to hear the original comments, but stewards were called and came and split them up. It started again when we scored as presumably one party or other took the opportunity in the chaos to have a pop at the other. Well that's what it looked like anyway.

Calling out racism doesn’t mean someone is left wing. The Tories, Liberals and Labour are all against racism (apart from maybe Braverman).

The police have covered this repeatedly, it’s the combination of alcohol and cocaine that in their experience is fuelling increased aggression.

He appeared to have next to no interest in the game.

You are an old head like me - getting back on topic - do you remember much in fighting in years gone by ?

I remember being at the old valley when Poskett scored a hat trick and at half time there was an altercation by the burger bar which ended up like a Wild West saloon bar dustup.

west Brom when we were dicked 4 or 5, one pissed up group decided they wanted to fight everyone and fists flew until the West Midlands Constabulary steamed in and they were not seen again at the ground. They didn’t mess about.

I was standing about three people along from last nights incident. If I'm honest I didn't hear the alledged racial comments, however I did hear shouting from several people calling for stewards which at the time I had no clue what it was all about.
Suddenly a lot of shouting and pushing and shoving, I still had no idea what it was all about but I did stop a few who had nothing to do with it from rushing along and joining in. Both parties carried on shouting and pushing until the alledged offender got punched by the bloke behind who was calling for the stewards. All I did was grab the bloke who made the alledged comments and told him to get on with watching the game while the chap who throw the punched walked away with his mate.
I can't comment on drugs or booze, however it could have got nasty, luckily the bloke who was calling for the stewards and throw a punch / slap had the sense with his mate to move to a different part of the stand.
If it was a racist comment no place for it in the game, easy to say now but maybe instead of shouting for stewards / police just approach the authorities and point the offender out and leave it to them to resolve.
