Not sure that there is a huge difference between drinking at the stadium with fellow Albion fans or drinking in a bar with fellow Albion fans. Better to get to the stadium in good time in my view.

I did see and read that. I'd imagine it will be like Marseille. A disinterested Italian will stand there, ignore us and let us sit (stand) where we want.

The only difference is that they won't be French

I'm not sure there'd be an issue from a getting-in perspective in making it the final point on your Rome walking tour, you just need to be a little bit careful as to when you approach the stadium and particularly from which direction. Per the Albion's comms:

Please note that Ponte Duca d’Aosta bridge and the immediate area around it should be avoided for safety reasons, along with the south side of the stadium.​

I was reading about this bridge last night, purely by chance. It seems to be a renowned ambush point yet, despite that, it has no police presence. Also it seems taxis may drop fans off just by this bridge, as it is just a short walk over to the stadium, but it's the last place an opposing fan wants to be approaching the stadium on foot.

Might want to take advice from someone who knows the city better but I've walked from termini Station to the stadium (with a few pit stops) via the Olympic Village. It's a fair walk but you cross a beautiful old bridge then head south to the stadium. Don't remember going though anywhere particularly dodgy but I wasn't going on a match day.

I'd be disappointed if it wasn't like a wedding seating plan and we all have to look at a small diagram when we arrive to match our names to a seat.

I mean no, but yes.

Was excited when the draw was made - big ground meaning a chance of tickets. Then deflated by news of only 3400 tickets. Then teased by the news that the max T1 would be was 301 points. We’ve 262 so figured it would be close. Then deflated again when the 268 figure was announced. Then thrilled to snare tickets at the start of T2 yesterday. But then the stark realisation that the rest was not going to be simple. After 36 hours of exhaustive and exhausting research and deliberation, and negotiation with my son / travel companion, we finally have our travel plans (two flights out via Geneva, two trains and a flight back, via Pisa and Birmingham) in place.

just the 3 nights’ hotels to sort now, and I can get back to being excited again.

Regardless of scanning at the gate to get into the stadium, a paper printout will be useful given the expectation of having to show the ticket 3 or 4 times to various armoured-up Italian coppers on the way to the ground.

It's also potentially a long day where you'll be taking lots of photos of Rome and have limited/no access to a phone charger, so phone battery management may be quite key if you don't have a paper version to hand.

I’m not sure what you mean? I know the tickets come from Roma.. but the official comms from the club states you can use your phone.
