The only circumstances i could genuinely se myself ever going then the following criteria would have to be met..

Return Helicopter flight from Shoreham & Noel Edmond’s cannot be the pilot

Luxury On site sound proof trailer

use of luxury porcelain Toilets where there is never a queue

And i get to stand ( probably sit ) stage right for my chosen acts

All food and drink bought to me, never have to queue

And i get to meet Lisa Scott Lee

I’m not a Boomer 👍
Yeh, something like that might tempt me - I might even be slightly less demanding! Not a Boomer either (not quite!) :)

If they can ever get Taylor Swift to actually do it, it'll be sensational. Not even a big fan, just think the dream Glasto headliner is someone who is going to create a slightly mental headline show that is clearly done at a loss to the artist. Beyonce and Adele both delivered this despite not being traditional Glasto headliners.

I saw Radiohead headline in 2017 and it made me jump from thinking they're overrated to becoming a big fan almost instantaneously. If you could get them to play the hits for 2 hours rather than making a slow "creep" towards them, live on the Pyramid, then that'd be transcendent.

I give you Reg Kehoe and his marimba queens, featuring Frank De Nunzio Snr, possibly the greatest bassist ever lived.
Watch the video in full - you won't be disappointed !

Living or dead?

Is this Fantasy Glasto?

If so I'd have loved to have seen either Elvis or The Beach Boys in their prime.

The key to headlining (main Sunday set at least) at Glastonbury is:
1. Large back catalog - long set, covering many generations
2. Many famous songs known by most age groups - much of audience are not specifically fans.
3. Competent live

There’s a reason why The Cure (am a big fan) and Coldplay (even tho I am not a big fan) have headlined so many times as they fit the above criteria.

U2, Fleetwood Mac, Radiohead, Rod Stewart etc.

West is BEST
Pixies

LCD Soundsystem

Springsteen

There’s loads but ultimately it’s not all about the bands is it. It’s the whole festival vibe and experience.

It’s really not for me these days but I hope everyone who’s going enjoys it.

I think I’d like to go again one year but check out the smaller tents and healing field etc.

Does make you realise that modern music culture is so much about solo artists these days. Has there ever been an era in popular music (like 1960 onwards let’s say) where major act ‘bands’ are so rare - apart from the legacy acts, that is?

Of current bands I’ve always been surprised that Iron Maiden haven’t played one of the headline slots.
Listen to Bruce Dickinson's comments on the festival and you'll understand why. He can be a real twat at times.
