We'd have happily lied. Truth is tho it's an absolute pig of a place to get away from
Especially if you have a long homeward journey. Queuing up at Falmer is just the start... I didn't get home till after 2am following the Ajax match last season. Very jealous of locals who have the pain of waiting in the queue but once they get to Brighton they are at least almost home.

Agree. 1st 2 paragraphs apply to the whole of the UK. Road & Rail.
For a few games last season, held back for a post match pint, and found, hour after, hundreds did the same.
With same problem.
Went for a couple of pints in the Swan at Falmer after the Wolves game. Got back to the station about 6.30/6.45 and there was STILL a queue!

You wish that we hadn't increased capacity? Seriously? :facepalm:
Not sure I said that at all! More along the lines of - if you increase the numbers needing transport to and from the stadium then also increase the transport infrastructure, don't decrease it.

Mind you I do wish that capacity hadn't been increased by squeezing two extra seats into each row in the East.

Not just the WSU, the East stand received similar treatment.

When transport problems are raised many say that it is out of PBOBE's control but in many ways he has been the cause of many of the problems. The capacity at the Amex has increased by 10,000 or so and at the same time we have lost one P&R site and the Bennet's Field car park. A 50% increase in crowds and a reduction in transport facilities.
When visiting Newcastle games whilst not enjoying seating position always think how lucky they are to have a stadium in the town centre

Interesting reading this thread. I'm not gloating, but after last night's 8pm KO at the Cottage, I arrived at Preston Park at 1152pm. The game finished at about 952pm, after 7 or 8 minutes of eventful added time and a bit of cavorting at the end. I think for me, the frustrations are about waiting around after the game. I'm happier walking to the tube or mainline station after an evening game, which is why I normally walk home after our games at the Amex, or at least as far as a bus route not coming from the Amex.

I've never tried, but could you get on a train at Moulsecoomb or park in the University car park there?
