No way. He was a hero last season, but unless we are going for the cheap option, then there are many better strikers out there who'd have more chance of getting 20 goals a season in this league.

Credit where credit is due Murray was outstanding against us at The Amex. While I wouldn't bring him back I do think we have missed his style of forward who has the ability to hold the ball up and bring the midfield into the game.

Also he doesn't clap enough for me, we need a striker with more clapping ability before, during and after the match.

No. He is a good player, but even if we don't fast forward to the Prem, we should be looking to move forward, not backwards

Nope.

I still love him but we have moved on from him. 3 months ago I might have said yes, but not now. He's playing in a mediocre Palace team and getting a lot of criticism as he's not performing or scoring. That maybe because Freedman is now being shown up as tactically poor and playing too defensively, but you would still expect some better performances if you are going to make a case that he's a Championship level striker.

Agdestein will be a better player soon enough too

I would have him back in an instant and everyone who says that Gus didn't rate him enough to want to keep him are re-writing the facts. Gus said

" It's not like I can go and offer him what every other team is offering him and that's something we have tried to explain. We have tried to sort something out but we have a limit and we have to work within the resources of that limit. "

The simple fact is that had he accepted the club's offer he would have stayed, but he didn't.

That's not to say that I rate him as better than CMS, but the combination of the two as a strike partnership would be something I'd want to see.

He would have been a bit part player had he accepted our offer. The fact Palace offered him just a few £k more and an extra year, proved that if Gus REALLY wanted to keep him, he would have asked Mr Bloom to improve our offer. Gus isn't going to come out and say "We've offered him x amount as that's all we think he's worth", he's going to sugarcoat it that it was due to financial restraints.

We still wouldn't have played 2 up front if Murray had been here so he would have been consigned to the bench for most the season.

But it WAS down to financial restraints because every club has to work to an agreed budget. Nobody running any kind of business is going to offer a player a blank cheque just to keep them on, but the fact is that Murray was one of a number of options that Gus was simultaneously trying to persue, and the fact that he left forced the club to make a serious offer of £ 1 million for CMS to Peterborough.

Had Murray accepted the clubs offer I doubt CMS would be at this club, simply because we could not have put that £ 1 million just for one player, the fact that we could save on Murray's wages gave us more cash to sweeten the deal for CMS.

Not playing two up front, then what the hell is Barnes and MacKail-Smith if not two up front ? It's the same as Small and Byrne, one is the playmaker, the other the finisher.

Murray was League 1's top scorer last season and to say we would leave that on the bench is ridiculous.

Voted yes, but won't happen while Gus is manager as he stated he is hard to manage and also wants better than he has or had...

He was offered a contract but moved for a better one, we would never match it, he will end up at Millwall or Crawley

Wasn't CMS league 1 top scorer last year.

I would love him to come back (if we are in the Championship). He is exactly the sort of centre forward we could have done with this season.

He didn't want to leave (fact!) but felt he was worth more then was on offer. If the money's right... Then why not! But only if the money's right!

This is full of wrong.
