Next season we'll be aiming for the premier league (assuming we're not already there) & Murray just aint good enough.

Elliott Bennett is the only player that Gus got rid of that I'd like to see come back

True. IMO he deserved the money though that he wanted. We wouldn't have gone up without him, well not as easily.

FWIW I would have Murray back as a squad player in a heartbeat if we are in the Championship. As first choice though he's not up to it in this division. In fact would he even be worth having as a squad player if we are trying to get promoted next year as he clearly not as good as Ashley Barnes.

Not for me...

Firstly and most importantly... He had his chance with us and Gus obviously didn't rate him well enough to keep him! I don't imagine that he was liked by the rest of the squad either and if we have ambition to be successful then squad togetherness must be paramount for this to happen...

Secondly... He's been soiled and ruined by that lot up the road... Let them have the problem of keeping him happy!

This.

Is he a decent Championship striker? Yes probably, in the right team.

Is he the striker to lead us into the Premier League? No.

surely he would be a "Palace Reject"

When I was a kid in the North Stand of the Goldstone these players were the lowest of the low.

Correct answer.
Even if he'd not gone to the dark side, he's a lower league player at best. We need to be aiming much higher than GM

Forget his record for palace, I can't help but think an in form Murray such as last season would be a huge asset to us. We've tried vokes and paynter but none of those have played to the level Murray played at last season. His touch and hold up play is different class and he would improve our team and squad no end.

I'm not desperate to have him back as we've moved on but his as good if not better than any striker currently at the club.
