I would have him back in an instant and everyone who says that Gus didn't rate him enough to want to keep him are re-writing the facts. Gus said
" It's not like I can go and offer him what every other team is offering him and that's something we have tried to explain. We have tried to sort something out but we have a limit and we have to work within the resources of that limit. "
The simple fact is that had he accepted the club's offer he would have stayed, but he didn't.
That's not to say that I rate him as better than CMS, but the combination of the two as a strike partnership would be something I'd want to see.
But it WAS down to financial restraints because every club has to work to an agreed budget. Nobody running any kind of business is going to offer a player a blank cheque just to keep them on, but the fact is that Murray was one of a number of options that Gus was simultaneously trying to persue, and the fact that he left forced the club to make a serious offer of £ 1 million for CMS to Peterborough.
Had Murray accepted the clubs offer I doubt CMS would be at this club, simply because we could not have put that £ 1 million just for one player, the fact that we could save on Murray's wages gave us more cash to sweeten the deal for CMS.
Not playing two up front, then what the hell is Barnes and MacKail-Smith if not two up front ? It's the same as Small and Byrne, one is the playmaker, the other the finisher.
Murray was League 1's top scorer last season and to say we would leave that on the bench is ridiculous.
Voted yes, but won't happen while Gus is manager as he stated he is hard to manage and also wants better than he has or had...
He was offered a contract but moved for a better one, we would never match it, he will end up at Millwall or Crawley
Not according to the 30 odd people who have posted you dickhead, 3 things:
1 Don't open a thread if you are not interested in it
2 Don't post on a thread if you are not interested in it
3 Take some English lessons you illiterate prick
Wow take a chill pill lol..... Must be sad being a keyboard warrior with a tiny penis
Personally if we are in the Championship I think that yes I would.
