[Albion] If Ferguson is now worth £51m, maybe Hürzeler might consider letting him play?

I'd guess Hurzeler doesn't think he fits in with his system and not the type of striker who can chase back to defend every time we lose the ball. Would be a shame to lose a player who has shown what he can do and is so young it's hard to know how much he could improve. I hope he has the patience to stay and take his chances when he gets them.

I don’t get the impression that FH doesn’t think he’s right for the system, whatever that might be. He’s had quite a few chances. He just seems to have had a severe loss of form.

Shouldn't make transfer decisions based on who fits a managers style. Managers don't last that long. Made that mistake with Sanchez.

Evan is one of the best natural strikers I've seen in an Albion shirt. It would be crazy to even think about selling him.
Evan was one of the best finishers I've seen full stop, particularly for such a young age. Since the start of 2024 he's been so far off that, he looks like an entirely different player. The question is whether he's still got it and, if so, how to get him back into the groove.

He's under contract until 2029. What the club do with him will reflect how they view his future.

No way do I advocate selling him but at the same time he has looked a shadow of the pre injury player, a ringer almost. Championship loan where he is pretty well guaranteed playing time and a chance to get back to the player we all raved about would seem the best bet to me.

Something really odd happening here, he has been injured or an ineffective bit part player showing pretty well nothing of the player he was pre injury/glandular fever for a year now.

Jeez, if someone wants to pay us £50m for him (they won’t), I’d take it.

He may prove himself to be great, but that’s a big bet. And so far he has neither proven himself to RDZ or FH.

I know he’s young, but he’s had enough experience of being in the first team squad to prove himself.

Right now I’d rather sell him than loan him and lose a year on his contract.

I've got no problem whatsoever loaning him to a competitor like West Ham, Fulham or Bournemouth from a competition point of view. I'm also not concerned about our squad depth as he offers nothing at the moment anyway and there are a number of players in the squad I'd rather play than him up front.

The issue I've got with that is it will be pointless as he won't get enough game time at another PL club which he so desperately needs. He should be loaned to a Championship club for the rest of this season and next to get game time under his belt, learn his craft and hopefully come back fit and confident. He's looked far from a Premier League footballer for over a year now.

With the news JP is now injured, i can't see EF going anywhere.

If we were to loan him with an obligation to buy, that would leave us very short up front for next season, especially if bids come in for JP.

I would imagine that the club would only loan him out to a club if that club agreed to play him, if fit, in a certain percentage of games.

Be mad to loan him out with just DW then as our only fit number 9.
Its also not great for his development to spend the 2nd half of the season sitting on the bench - which is certainly a possibility if Pedro, Welbeck continue to be fit/scoring. That of course is not 100% certain in any way but Welbeck is training again, and Pedro had probably his best game for a while with us last week .

well there's the dilemma right there ! I can see both sides to this but obviously you'd argue that Ferguson on loan at the moment is remote.
(but i still don't think we should rule it out ) .
Hopefully Pedro is just a routine ankle twist with quick recovery and nothing more serious.
PS: Although not a traditional CF as per Ferguson/Welbeck - Georginho is not the worst option in terms of a replacement.

Same with Rutter. They both give real energy and physicality so no concerns about either playing up top.
