A pathetic bowling and fielding performance from a rank bad side, you'd have thought the 6-1 mauling in Australia may have made them buck up their ideas or the shambolic 16 run win over absolute minnows Canada, but no, they proceed to make us the laughing stock of world cricket on the biggest stage of all.

Heads should roll, send them home now.

Three months touring Australia, immediately followed by a couple of months in India - I'd be utterly f***ed off with cricket as well and itching to get home. I don't blame em.

I know, it must be a horrendous life, touring the world, summer all year round, representing your country.

I must admit, if you've got young kids then this schedule is ridiculous. What makes it worse is how hard the side would have had to work to get ready for the Ashes after the end of the domestic season. You don't just turn up in Oz and expect to win, and our players must have put in some hard graft to have turned up as lean, fit and hungry as they were.

Of course we all want to win the Ashes, but if the price to be paid is continual one-day humiliation then the itinerary needs to be rethought.

We still have a side packed with batting talent but our hopes of winning the trophy rest, in my opinion, purely on the shoulders of KP.

Just put a cheeky fiver on the Netherlands. I know England have started pretty well in bat but at 8/1 the Netherlands still seem very long. Either way I get something ou of the game from now. Either money or happiness from an England win.

Or get through this one and find form as the tournament goes on.

I am pretty sure that the next Ashes series in Australia is only 3 years away rather than 4 for this very reason i.e to avoid an Ashes tour followed immediatelty by a World Cup.

Would agree regarding the schedule, but the players are quick enough to take the IPL money, rather than have time off.

Not all the players are taking the IPL shilling, although I agree those that do only give the decision-makers more reason to overload the schedule.

The guy bowling for the Dutch now sounds like a rampaging petrol station.

BP Loots.

The cracking Dutch names continue. Up the other end the bowler is now Peace Healer. Obviously he's a purveyor of gentle, inoffensive spin...

Strauss 57 off 45 balls. This is a SLICK innings...

This is the problem with ruddy Trott as an ODI batsman. We are looking at a required rate of 6.3 an over and Trott is batting at 58 (i.e. 3.5 runs an over). Great if we're batting first or chasing a sub-par total but a bit of a liability if we're chasing a big target.
