Last weekend of group stage, seems to have gone on forever, Saffers vs. Afghans at 08.30. If I was RSA nowt to win in this game, rest your bowlers?
Couldn’t that be Saffers v Affers?Last weekend of group stage, seems to have gone on forever, Saffers vs. Afghans at 08.30. If I was RSA nowt to win in this game, rest your bowlers?
I can't remember a cricket world cup when people haven't complained it's too long, to be fair.If there was one word to describe this tournament I reckon it would be "interminable"
Maybe that's just because i'm an Englishman
97*. Shame he missed the milestone.190/7. Omarzai on 68 from 89 balls. Previous highest score 73*, he's had a good tournament be good if he can round it off with a) a new highest score, and b) maybe a 100.
I agree a bit but this does seem to have lasted months. When England's record was won one, lost five and they still had two weeks left and could qualify for the semis it showed how will it was.I can't remember a cricket world cup when people haven't complained it's too long, to be fair.
Having said that, even with this format they could shave at least a couple of weeks off by playing more matches at the same time.
But that would cost them some TV revenue.
Unfortunately the number of MRF Tyres adverts they can show is more important than the cricket that wraps around them.
This. Particularly the bit about India. I am fed up with the fact that the grounds are near empty unless India are playing. As somebody on here said a few years ago, I now think this format's days are numbered. I used to enjoy it, partcularly when we were good at it, but this tournament has just about finished me off.
The only thing I'm hoping for is that a team beat India, just to shut the crowd up. It's felt more like a BCCI event.
Well when I was at the final in 2019, all the Indians (Keevee, Keevee!) and Australians (Ben Stokes is an embarrassing cheat, apparently) near me all wanted New Zealand to win. So I hope they get their wish, even if it’s 4 years laterAs somebody on here said a few years ago, I now think this format's days are numbered. Same issue at T20 World Cup, lots of empty grounds.This. Particularly the bit about India. I am fed up with the fact that the grounds are near empty unless India are playing.
They're not cricket fans in India, just fans of Indian cricket.
To be fair, Nasser on his greatest moments sounds like a great watch.I agree a bit but this does seem to have lasted months. When England's record was won one, lost five and they still had two weeks left and could qualify for the semis it showed how will it was.
I've lost a lot of interest mainly due to an inability to watch highlights on anything other than my phone. There's none on YouTube, the channel 5 ones are at silly times and the Sky Sports ones just seem to float around the schedules so whenever I attempt to watch them or tape them I get a someone talking about 2019 or Nasser on his greatest moments
