I can't remember a cricket world cup when people haven't complained it's too long, to be fair.
Having said that, even with this format they could shave at least a couple of weeks off by playing more matches at the same time.
But that would cost them some TV revenue.
Unfortunately the number of MRF Tyres adverts they can show is more important than the cricket that wraps around them.

I agree a bit but this does seem to have lasted months. When England's record was won one, lost five and they still had two weeks left and could qualify for the semis it showed how will it was.
I've lost a lot of interest mainly due to an inability to watch highlights on anything other than my phone. There's none on YouTube,the channel 5 ones are at silly times and the Sky Sports ones just seem to float around the schedules so whenever I attempt to watch them or tape them I get a someone talking about 2019 or Nasser on his greatest moments

Well when I was at the final in 2019, all the Indians (Keevee, Keevee!) and Australians (Ben Stokes is an embarrassing cheat, apparently) near me all wanted New Zealand to win. So I hope they get their wish, even if it’s 4 years later

Same issue at T20 World Cup, lots of empty grounds.

Pricing /scheduling / format needs to be looked at.

To be fair, Nasser on his greatest moments sounds like a great watch.
It does last too long. Of course it does. But that is entirely down to the TV scheduling.
The first world cup in 1975 (featuring 8 teams) lasted two weeks.
The 1992 edition, played to basically the same format as this but with 9 teams, lasted about 4 and a half (the final was played on a Wednesday).
For what it's worth, every world cup back to 2007 has been 6+ weeks (I got bored with trying to flick through Wikipedia while on a train at that point.
