***NEWS FLASH*** The season started on the 9th August.

And we have only played 1 league game, the season will go on until May. The time to criticise the team, manager or the board is when we have played at least 10 league games and we are not getting anywhere. People on here are making assumptions based on our squad and that we have lost one match. I remember at the beginning of last season Leicester fans were moaning about Pearson and wanting a change. We may yet have a bad season, but let's wait until that happens before we pass judgement.

As much as I'm still hoping it will all come together, we do have to remember at one point Tony Bloom was confident we would have a competitive squad for the start of the season and that didn't happen either.

I heard him say we would have a competitive squad by the end of the transfer window but not the 'start of the season'. Do you have a link for that quote?

It was in one of his interviews on seagulls world after we appointed Sami Hyypia.

Is our team better than last season? If the answer is yes we are moving forward, no and we are moving backwards.

The problem is the season has started and even if they recruit 5 decent players we would have missed a months football and they will need several months to settle in.

Bruno playing in midfield and Calderon playing left back - can you honestly say that the club is doing a decent job at the moment?

No one can answer that until the end of the season, the window has not closed and who is to say that the team we have at the moment gets better as the season goes on. Can you predict with confidence the top three of this league come the end of May?

No, prevention is better than cure. This dire situation needs sorting out (or should have been sorted out) before we have a bad season; indeed, to ensure that we don't have a bad season.

We've struggled to sign (quality) players since May; why and from where are 4-5 quality players going to appear from in the next two weeks?

Quite frankly, I don't think we look like an attractive option for players at the moment; we look like a penny-pinching directionless shambles.

Great ground, great training facilities, very promising youth academy, but on the day-to-day management and playing side of things at the moment, looks like we couldn't run a bath!

No of course I can't predict the top 3 and who knows we might be one of them, but I can comment on the current situation and the team that will play tomorrow, it doesn't look as good as the one that played last season or the season before that, is that fair?

Well I'm hanging on in with TB, PB and DB until the curtain falls. TB made what I see as a promise that we would be happy by the END of the Transfer period.
That said, I am surprised and disappointed that they are leaving themselves so open to criticism with their procrastination. And if, as seems the way, Ward is off to Burnley after we have had him in our pocket for months, my faith in them is being sorely tested.
Without knowing exactly what went on with the Ward Saga it's difficult to point the finger. And though I often understand the Clubs reluctance to keep us up to date, this does leave them open to accusations of full scale dereliction of this seasons transfer dealings.
Anyway time will tell, and they've not got much of it left to pull something out of the bag. :annoyed:

This is about right.

Again you are going by a couple of games and making assumptions, this is a marathon not a sprint. But what does it matter. we have changed the manager for the last 2 seasons and that will catch up with you eventually, teams need consistency. So accept that we are a team that will need to rebuild over the next season and enjoy the football.

I can confidently predict that we will not be in that top three, and probably not even in the top 10 the way things are going, and have gone this summer. We've had three months to sign decent players, yet we're supposed to have confidence that 4-5 decent signings will materialise in the next 15 days?

I've not been as angry or pi$$ed off about the management of the Albion since the selling of the Goldstone and forced move to Gillingham.

It is a very worrying time. Just hope Burke has a plan B and C etc that can happen very very rapidly - today would be good

I'm not sure he's ever even had a Plan A

No sh*t!!!!! You don't have to be the love child of einstein and stephen hawking to work that one out.

Seriously, even if we'd signed Ward, Clayton and Baldock at the start of may we would be struggling for top 3 given the strength of the other teams this year, not to mention we have a new manager who is managing for the first time in england and at a lower level.

It is also a fact that a number of other teams appear to be more settled than us.
From that I take it you believe more transfer business has already been done from June to now, than will be done from now through to September.

Personally I don't agree.
I bet there will be a transfer pooh-storm.
I hope we are cash rich enough to take advantage.
I bet all of those team you deem to be more settled will still be doing lots of business.
I also bet of those teams you are pitting the Albion against they are the ones spending Premier League money.

We are not, and never will be, in competition with a parachute payment club.

By the end of the transfer window we will have played four league games - 12 possible points - nearly 10% of the season. Those 12 points ( or any fraction of ) could mean the difference between staying in this league and relegation. Will you be so laid back if we're relegated by 1 point or miss out on the play offs by a point ?

The season start date is guessable months in advance - it's hardly rocket science that you want to ensure you have as many players signed up as possible by early August.

if sami does not think chicksen is ready, then let's play 3 5 2. we have 3 centre backs that are all worthy of a place in the side.
that can be our plan b.
