Oh dear, maybe if you'd worked harder at school you'd have a job better than a plumber's apprentice ?

With great respect Westdene Seagull - Wrong Direction is employed by a business that has been around since the late fifties------my Dad who is now in his eighties-------me now 59 this year.
My son is a City & Guilds qualified plumbing/heating engineer.
You may not agree with his views, but don't take the piss out of a self employed business that is still going strong despite all the parties that have tried to feck us over.

I have just been to Worthing hospital to visit a relative and when I arrived I found that the hospital had gone. Completely disappeared. These nasty Tories move fast.

I'm not criticising the business he works for - and yes I know he's your son and I absolutely respect people like you and your Dad grind out a decent living starting and running your own business. What I object to with Wrong Direction is his moaning and then not even attempting to do anything about it. I engaged in local politics when we had issues in our neighborhood, it worked, we got the issues fixed. I object to people like WD slagging off politics and those that decide to engage when he is too lazy to do so. If he has problems with how things run then he should do something about it rather than just moan like some pranny.

I don't have a problem, we've actually had plenty of work since the cons have been in, all I stated was that I think there'll be riots if they try and sell off the NHS which I stand by.

People are allowed an opinion even if they didn't vote, its a little something called freedom of speech, probably worth as much as your vote

So we both might have voted for Labour/Tories/ LD's/ yesterday but due to thousands of students that love that Green 'thing' it would have been a waste of time.
I personally do not have time to lobby local politicians coz I'm out there trying to earn a living for my family.

A very insignificant story.
Thirty years ago the main rain water drain outside my house blocked up.
Mr Labour Man turned up at my door looking for votes.
I told him if he could get the drain unblocked he would get my vote.
Thirty years later the drain is still blocked - despite two years of letters/phone calls.
That for me sums up the preening scum-bags that want to run our council/country.
Perhaps Wrong Direction is a bit like his Dad.

Should have asked the Greens, they would have made sure that anybody passing over the drain was either on a cycle or doing less than 20mph.

Oh agreed, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but if you moan and slag people off for supporting a political party ( as you have ), you can hardly complain when nothing gets fixed to your satisfaction. ENGAGE or stop moaning.

Firstly, at MP level, we now have a Green, Tory and Labour to represent us, so your assertion that it's a waste of time is wrong. Secondly, the Greens are predicted to get a right royal hiding in the local elections so surely that makes it worth voting locally ?

I have no problem with people dis-engaging with politics but if they then moan like WD then they have no one to blame but themselves.

Then it's worth re-stating that the economic crisis of 2008 was caused by GREEDY bankers buying up triple AAA rated US mortgage debt that wasn't as copper bottomed as was claimed. This led to the run on Northern Rock, and Gordon Brown having to chair an emergency meeting of EU finance ministers and inject large amounts of capital into banks (to bolster their reserves) by purchasing large share positions in Northern Rock, RBS, HBOS and Lloyds-TSB.

We can argue about bank deregulation and credit levels spiralling out of control, but the whole point of deregulation is that the banks were expected to regulate themselves, they didn't do what they were supposed to, and to cap it all, we have Barclays rigging Libor and other inter-bank lending rates.

The lesson to be learned isn't one of mis-trust of Labour and it's economics, it should be the lack of trust in banks and those who run them......

It really does not matter one iota that you believe it was not Labour's fault that the economy was fxxked, the electorate still believe it was. The best thing for Labour to do is to learn some financial prudence (do not spend too much, do not borrow too much, do not promise to much) and when they are able to demonstrate this the electorate may be willing to listen.

Until then, carry on, as you just make life easier for the Tories.

When the NHS starts to disappear..

The NHS is already going away, Cheshire-cat style. In ten years, it'll be an insurance company.

Single-payer insurance, and all services provided by private vendors, is not a national health service.
There'll be a lot of money shifted under the rubric of 'savings' -- but you'll never see the savings, unless you're big in the City.

Permanent Secretary to the Treasury, Sir Nicholas Macpherson has contadicted Tory pre-election claims saying financial crisis was " a banking crisis pure and simple." Unfortunately, millions of gullible idiots fell for the Tory spin.

Tory spin? Labour make the same claim. what your reference is to is the catalyst for the abrupt end to the good time. this isnt the problem, it doesnt cause the deficit and the debt to sprial. thats due to spending and planning to spend more than generated from the economy, for years to come. when the crisis hits, there no space to manoeuvre and when the revenue dries up 40bn deficits become £156bn, and stayed above £100bn for 4 more years.
