Sorry I haven't managed to get in to this thread at all because I can't for the life of me work out what you are saying here. It's been very distracting and I keep coming back to it. Do the literally and the double quotes cancel each other out and you needed them in there to meet some sort of character count target, or are you trying to make some sort of point by doing this?
Ok then. The term "sold the country down the river" is an old saying, least it is if you are of a certain age. Also i believe that selling off our utilities elec, water gas, car industry etc is also being "sold" ........so i just thought that most posters would catch on to the double meaning.....obviously not.
