You can see why he would have interviewed well though. Very analytical, calm and seemingly intelligent.
Problem could be that he understands the issue/ problem, but doesn’t have the skills/ knowledge/ expertise to find appropriate solutions ( to swallow an executive’s competency phrasebook)
I hope for all the BHA fans’ sakes that we get a good performance on Saturday.
Brilliant on diagnosis but crap at prescribing.
Like too many GPs.
And I don't mean Graham Potters.

The Anti-Hertzler rhetoric has got ridiculous now. Yes we got hammered last week yesterday it was poor tactics and effort from players. Let's keep a bit of perspective folks. It's his first season with a lot of young players. For heavens sake let's learn a bit of patience and forget the panic knee jerk reactions of certain other clubs.

We’re 26 games in, and all he is preaching is “togetherness and intensity”. In the most elite league on planet Earth, you need more than that. He doesn’t have anything about him. Out, quicker the better.
You definitely need more - eg: skilful players. But actually I think “togetherness and intensity” is pretty damn important.

You need selection, formation, intelligent deployment, tactics, method, ability to target personal duels, rehearsed manoeuvres with the ball, understanding of opponent specific weak points, methods to win ball back, in game changes, tactical adjustments, creating overloads, minimising transition threats, achieving offensive overloads, set piece effectiveness, defending set piece organisation, and many other things.

in place of all that, we have “togetherness and intensity”. Clueless. 5th choice, out of his depth.

A lot of comments here suggest that they think FH has a complete puzzle but the problem is that he keeps putting the pieces in the wrong places. Isn't it more likely that his puzzle is actually incomplete?

Also, listening to his pressers and concluding that 'what you see is all there is' is rather naive. No manager discusses tactics/strategy in detail. GP was renowned for his platitudes as well. On the training pitch of course they'll be practising more than just being more intense.

We have so few experienced and seasoned PL players at the moment, who are fully fit, is it surprising that their performances are hit and miss? I'd wager even the best managers in the world would struggle in their first season with this squad to be much higher than we are now in the table.

Accepting all that, isn’t it a bit concerning when you get spanked 7-0 and in answer to the question “what will you change” the answer is “nothing, just more intensity”?

I agree it sounds lame. However, I don't believe it. I should imagine he's thinking, 'Buggered if I'm going into all the ins and outs of what went wrong' with the press and public. Managers are often quite secretive about what goes on within their team.

We’ve always played with young players why is this only being brought up to defend FH.
His tactics and in game management are rubbish it’s cost us points this season and to say he would do Forest all over again thinking a bit more intensity will solve the gapping hole in midfield proves he out of his depth.

Despite his professionalism, his face shows how he feels after that drubbing.

If the players hear as much about intensity as we do I'd expect them to kick this shit out of him.. He's not young Sheldon smart.

playing with a pragmatic balance is what we need, and have done for ages, regsardless of narcissist in a tracksuit.

Progressive jazz may look good, statistically, but you need a spell of Rock, Groovin soul, FUNK, . . . . . . . A splash of punk . . . . Dash of disco.

our current alternative of U2/Coldplay B sides isn't quite cutting it.

I'm still fence . . . . I went from fence to out just before it clicked for GP . . . . . So I'm clearly clueless!

Does anyone know if his St. Pauli team had a lot of young players? (I assume that one of the prerequisites of a manager we hire would be evidence of being able to work with/develop young players).

Agree. TBH, feel the same. I've been critical, it's difficult when you compare Ipswich away vs Notts Forest away. Polar opposites
