What was the attendance ?
What was the attendance ?
their blinkered to that sort of evidence bushy ,tart it up as much as you want but what you've posted is the truth.
18,792.
(we got 27,367 at home)
true to a point but lets not bury our heads in the sand, PEOPLE COME INTO THE COUNTRY AND THEN GO MISSING ,can't think why can you ?We built an empire over two centuries that made this country an economic super power.
The role of Asian, African and West Indian land, labour, resources and markets were fundamental to this.
The fact that the peoples of the Empire chose to make livelihoods within the home of this empire is a natural consequence of that which too few people are prepared to accept.
In the same way that British have created ex-pat communities across the globe. Too many Brits are fundamentally hypocrites in their views on these matters.
Even at the last game at the Goldstone a banana was thrown on the pitch..
I seem to recall it happening at the orient game too? I could be wrong.
Along with the fella that tried to karate kick Ray Wilkins, who promptly stepped back and the bloke flew past him. Still makes me laugh to this day, that bit.

There is no comparison with the 70s to the 80s .Things were different in the 70s and unless you lived in them you cannot comment on why people lived the way they did .

Are you referring to our 3-0 win which relegated them from Div 1 in 1982?
In fairness, it doesn't. It says much more about the time.
The point has been made elsewhere that racist chants were seen as 'banter' then. The NF handed out leaflets at the north stand turnstiles whilst standing next to a policeman. As strange and disgusting as it seems now it was pretty normal then. Of course we all know better now, society has moved forward.
Obviously homophobic chanting is still 'banter' but thankfully racism is now totally unacceptable everywhere and at all levels.
I wonder if the next generation will share your reaction to songs such as 'does your boyfriend know your here'? I rather suspect (and hope) so
Not really, listen to yourself , imposing YOUR standards and views as gospel , what do you class as racist , someone like me who is pissed off at the 800,000 odd illegal immigrants that they have today admitted they've lost track of, god knows how many are really here , someone like me who sees absolutely no benefit whatsoever in the huge amount of african immigration into this country in the last 15 years ? Someone like me who sees large parts of our inner cities and mill towns turned into mini versions of pakistan or bangladesh ? I'm just sick of people like you decreeing what we are allowed to think and say and woe betide anyone , such as charlies shinpad who stray from the accepted doctrine of such experts as yourself no-one in their right mind condones racist attacks and all the rest of it , but i'm not going to be bullied into keeping silent about my views because peopl,e like you deem them unnaceptable , we've even had posters on this thread declaring " what a wanker i was back then " , no he wasnt , he behaved by what was acceptable as the standards of the time .
Are you referring to our 3-0 win which relegated them from Div 1 in 1982? If so all the racial abuse came from Palace that day.
Compared to the former mill towns of the north, Brighton is a far more tolerant place.
Yes it was that match, and it was not all from Palace. John Gregory decided to ignore his duties at right back as usual and scored twice. We followed that by victories against Leicester, Sunderland and Leeds to avoid relegation.
