[Albion] How much would you accept for Evan Ferguson *this transfer window*?

What is the minimum offer would you accept for Evan Ferguson in this transfer window?

Why fuel speculation?

There’s been nothing in this transfer window to say we intend to sell Ferguson.

In all likelihood if he goes anywhere, surely he will be going out on loan as Fabian has said.

Because it's a valid topic of conversation for an Albion fans' forum. Especially as the speculation is already rife.

Hope that helps.

Helps with what?

I was just expressing a POV.

Nobody even knows his fitness level.

If people want speculate on us selling a player when there are no grounds to do so yet (“being open for bids“ does not express an intent to sell) and a player whose physical and mental health status is unknown, knowing that speculation is going to fuel even more upset and arguments … fine.

Have fun. 🙂

( to play the ‘game’ - I think you will find though that there will not be a consensus on how much Ferguson is worth. Nor will that true worth, whatever it is, be what we would get for him now as opposed to when he is back on form.

Fair question given we’re apparently open to offers, but very difficult to answer given his lack of form and fitness. Suspect something around £25m will be enough, and in two years time we’ll either think we got a good deal, or made a colossal mistake.

That's the quandary TB has. Cash in on someone injured and out of form or wait and hope he can turn things around.
If a big enough offer comes in I suspect we will take it.
However, who knows we may accept an offer, then he fails the medical

I was answering your question: "Why fuel the speculation?". I hoped (still hope) that my answer helped you understand why the OP was a legitimate post.

I understand you were just expressing a POV. As was I.

I felt your response was patronising- I understand the purpose of the post - I wasn’t suggesting the OP was not posting a legitimate post - I know there has been speculation because of an article written by Naylor that was linked to this afternoon on the transfer thread.

My response here was in the context of that Naylor article then fuelling an absolute shitshow of speculation on the transfer thread about Ferguson falling out with the club, Fabian being sacked imminently because he can’t control the squad, us selling a top striker for under £40m, the Club has fcuked up etc etc - there’s been pages of it - all based on one rumour we have received a bid which we turned down and Naylor saying what TB has always said about all our elusive players, ‘we are open to bids”. Hence my question, why add to the fire?

(I’m glad this site allows us to express our respective, differing and legitimate POVs though without condemnation and put down from others) 🙂

40 million plus 50% sell on clause for next 2 transfers
Not sure about the sell on clause, but I think £40m would be about right.

I've always been confused by him. He has a sharp eye, but never seemed to have a dominant edge. He is still young though, so it's hard to call. But it may be that he does fade, so we are playing a game of cards here. So I'd go with the £40m and maybe a sell on clause. I'm not sure if any club would match it though.

It’s a difficult one as Ferguson clearly has very high potential but has only shown it in small flashes. He could easily turn out to be like the Swedish chap we let go & start scoring regularly.

£50m I think is fair because there’s definitely a good striker in there plus he’s still very young & homegrown.
