The account I read on the internet says he is buried in Bersted near Bognor so one is wrong.

From the history of The Royal Sussex Regiment:

Mr William Ward–Higgs lived at Hollywood House in South Bersted, Bognor Regis, at the time of writing “Sussex by the Sea” a fact commemorated today by a plaque on the side of the house. Ward-Higgs's grave is in Bersted churchyard
Just proves you can't always trust the Internet, Brian! If you read a little further down on that web page, you will find a note of correction.

The plaque is there on the house, for sure, but there's no grave in South Bersted churchyard. Details of Ward-Higgs' funeral and record of cremation were provided to me by the funeral directors, and Norwood Cemetery officials.

The original poll was rigged, I DEMAND that the result be scrapped and they dance to 'I kissed a girl' by Katy Perry. or ELSE.

It's a good laugh for a very good cause ..

Rejoice we only have to listen to it once those poor b@stards have it all the bloody time! (Enough to make you soundproof your caravan)

Not offensive, but perfect for Palace. This song is the 1970s football equivalent of £5.50 half time hot dogs, clackersticks and a wanker with a drum.

Think Reading FC but 40 years out of date. So in other words, just think Palace.

Oh, aren't you looking forward to it?

Just think of it as Palace "sh*gging your women and drinking your beer Whooooa, whooooa, whoooh o, AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH! Except in front of you whilst you are being forced to watch. That might make it easier.

Doesn't that just drive you towards self-harming ?
Its widely accepted amongst most able-minded football fans that playing music when a goal is scored is probably the SHITTEST thing a football club can do (other than going bust twice).

If they EVER consider pulling that shit at Falmer when we score, I will be rallying our supporters and leading an armed assault on the press box (or wherever the announcer resides) with a view to smashing up the sound system.

Agree. PLEASE do not let this happen at Falmer.

By the way Palace's administration is going they might be gone by the Rovers game and then we can all loudly sing

"Glad it's All Over"

You can always go to the bar whilst its on.

Oh..

Or you can always have that extra drink in one of the many beautiful Brighton boozers and turn up just late enough to miss it.

What I don't get ( and I haven't seen every thread on this) is that it started out as an auction with you winning it by outbidding every one else, then there seemed to be a poll. If you had the best bid fair enough, why the poll?

Only a handful of Albion fans will know that it's a Palace song.

And most of those only found out via this dance thing/poll thing.

It will largely pass without comment.

Are you sure? I would expect the vast majority of Brighton supporters to know it's Palace's main song, just as their lot would name GOSBTS as ours.

It does amuse me that whilst we have an emotion stirring anthem, steeped in history about young sussex soldiers marching to war with their comrades, Palarse seemed to struggle to decide between the Birdy Song and Agadoo and ended up with this

Does it really matter?
It's only a song.
Most of you have taken this all in good part. All for a good cause too which I will contribute to. Not until next month though-self employed=getting f***ed around chasing your money in these tough times!!!

SW - Ys it does matter and no not a prob that Al kindly won the raffle. We have stuff better than you and you us but this my friend is def one thing we have that is better than most / all clubs in the country...

As Watford zero says - we have an emotion stirring anthem, steeped in history - and it means a lot when sung...

Look at Stoke - Delilah is really loud etc - but where's its history - it has none.
