Brighton factually.....
Look at what happened last time we went on a witch hunt ..............

we got turned down by gannon amongst others and ended up with ......... slade

face facts we cant attract a decent manager yet..........

yes we have falmer in two seasons, but hold on thats a long time in football manager speak. therefore we cant use that as a carrot, because we are not known for our patience down here on the south coast are we ?

Although with the rest of you im frustrated by the poor start, as i see it we have no real options. Therefore lets give him time to prove us wrong or start again with a new gaffer next year.

Are people asking for the Steve Coppell under who we were relegated in 2003, Palace relegated in 1993 and 1998, and Reading relegated in 2008, and who quit Manchester City after 33 days and walked out on us when a bigger club came along (and that was f***ing Reading!)......................or a different one?

Obviously not the one I'm thinking of won promotion in 1989/1997/2002/2006 and won manager of the season in 2006 and 2007 and left us 6 points clear when he was TRANSFERRED to Reading for 250k.

You can say what you like but, as a result of last night, I think Slade has less time than he had before. I'm quite certain that the only thing that kept Adams in a job last year was us being near a trip to Wembley. If we'd been knocked out by Orient in the JPT last year (as we could have been) then I'm sure he would have gone before Christmas.

We really need about 10 points from our next 5 games. Given the opposition this should be achievable but when fear sets in you can get some unlikely results - especially if coupled with some dodgy defending. But these are just the games that we were winning under him last season.

This will be the real test of Slade's abilities as a manager - to keep the team focused after a couple of setbacks. If he fails then he won't last much longer.

You wont get him. end off thread.

I agree, so I'm happy to stick with Slade. Coppell is just about the only person I'd be happy to replace Slade (in the vaguely real world).

I dont think we will get Coppell, if he would come here then i think Bloom should do everything he can to get him here, however i want to see slade gone before christmas if we are still in the relegation zone (looks possiblewih the dreadful run of games in november)

So are you saying he's got the next six games?

If that is so, what's the minimum points total for his survival, 9 points?

I'd imagine the fans will only turn against him if we start to head towards the bottom 4 at an alarming rate the other side of Christmas a la Adams. Something i think thats unlikely to happen.

We don't need to head towards the bottom four, at an alrming rate the other side of Christmas WE ARE ALREADY THERE:angry::eek:

The next three games are winable, because after those three we'll struggle to get anything out of Leeds, Norwich and Charlton.

Why does everyone automatically think we will lose these games?

It's classic Adams thinking from last season - defeatism won't help anyone. Norwich have been beaten a few times this season, for example.

We may be in the bottom four but Southampton are artificially there and won't be there in 3 - 5 games time so we seriously need to get our s**t together, IMO

Might have something to do with the shite we have been watching this season. Played 10, Won 1 - hmm I think we can rule out promotion

If performance/results were to mirror last season, for example, would Slade get more time because of his popularity? Or would the Albion support turn on him, as we love to do?

Well, it looks like:

1) he'll get a bit more time due ot his popularity

but

2) ultimately, the support is turning

Bloody Marvellous.

Consistency is obviously a problem and needs to be rectified but he should get at least one full season to get a fair crack at the job.

Er the last 3 games were winable & we won 1! So if we win one of the next three (on current form) then after the November games I suspect we will be in the bottom two. Regretably I cannot see us being anything higher!
